New England B.S. Thread

I like living here for the winters, honestly. The summers are nice too, obviously, since they're not stupid hot. But it's really nice having the ocean an hour or two away, having mountains an hour or two away, getting good solid winters (most years) and nice summers (most years)

If I was to move, it'd be hard to find that combination again. And I'd only really consider moving to someplace that actually gets more snow, which makes it more difficult, lol.

 

Oooh, just wait until that one come back to haunt you!

 

She has no argument, no matter how hard she tries. I made the ultimate sacrifice and lived with her and her parents for a year, literally right after we got married. She can say whatever she wants... she'll lose.

Let's see if I can do some actual work today. Yesterday I did nothing except download and post pictures or at least that's how it seemed

 

I like going places and seeing things, but I'm always happier to be back home. I'm also deeply rooted here...got a job that I love that I will probably stay at for life.

I actually really like Central/Northern Maine. I'd like to buy a second home up there when I'm old enough for that to be realistic. With the home prices there, that really isn't a lofty goal. Can't live there, though. There's no work.

 

Speaking of moving...

I just wanted to drop in and say hello to you north-easterners. I just moved from Colorado a couple of months ago but I've lived in WA, SoCal, NorCal, AZ and IA before that. I look forward to meeting some of you on the trail.

 

How are you Justin? Glad to see you found your way over here. Nice meeting you this weekend. I'm sure we'll meet again soon if you get to one of our gatherings

 

As a southerner who came here for college and never left, I can tell you that you do have 4 full seasons, unlike most of the country. However, the winter is just too cold for me. I love Boston though. If Boston was located south of DC I'd never leave.

If I do stay up here for a few more years I'll probably move to NH somewhere. It'll suck to not be near the city anymore, but at least I could have my guns. IDK, we will see.

Ideally I'd love to move somewhere warmer, but I couldn't tell you where. I've moved every 2 to 4 years all my life so I'm kinda down for anywhere. Better to do it now while I'm early in my career.

 

Oh also, in the Dual Battery Install Saga, it looks like my aux batt has a bad cell. It's an Optima Yellowtop D75/25 and even when charged fully and left completely disconnected it will just slowly discharge. Optima customer support says I should replace it. Here goes another fun conversation with Amazon. Next time I'll just go to Autozone.

Everything else is working well. I need to wire up the voltage meters to both batteries and put a plate over the hole where the passenger side bed pocket was, then I'll be done. Well that and replace the battery too.

 

Good meeting you too... and I had a lot of fun at Fall Crawl. I'm always game to do a quick run on a weekend so, I'll stay tuned to what you all have going on out here.

 

Boating in the summer and snowsports in the winter- New England is the greatest. Plus, no where else understands the level of sarcasm I use.

 

Guys at the dealership got there half an hour late so I'm late to work. I laid into them, I heard the mechanic say punta. I said "I hope that wasn't in reference to me" the owner said "no he said the seat is so comfortable" I said "oh I'm sure he did"

 

And lets not forget the free entertainment we get from watch people try to unintentionally mix snow sports with watersports.
