My parents both upgraded to iphone's so they don't have chargers and are always complaining about dead batteries so all new MFI certified anker power cables and standalone 10000Mah battery pack's for them. My dad was also asking about the ViAir 88P pump I keep in the truck so I'll give him that since I just bought a new one for this season. Apparently my nephew wants the 2016 Hess Truck... didn't even know those existed... And an Xbox One controller (Those things at 55$???)

My sister got new summer tires on her (actually mine..) Acura from me this year, along with winters for my mom's (also mine..) Lancer. Thankfully after the Lancer I realized if I buy only manual vehicles they won't steal them from me.

    Morning, faces! Happy Monday...
3 day week for me, then a 5 day weekend! :bananadance:

    Wut?

Nah, if I avoided places because they had a woman who was mad at me I couldn't go anywhere...

I saw something shiny and wandered off.

No, I had Friday off from work. So, no computer-ing.

    Because I'm Amish.

Most cars these days have a small square popout piece in the front or rear bumper, and a threaded eye bolt in the spare tire well. You pop the piece out of the bumper, thread the eye bolt in, and presto-chango, instant recovery point. They're directly attached to the car's unit body, so it's as solid of a point as you're likely to find. That's where tow trucks hook on if they need to winch somebody. BUT, no hard tugging/jerking (yeah, yeah, ya pervs), just a steady pull, or you can bend things.

Yea the idiots who towed my tenants mini just found out about how not to use a threaded tow hook as a strap down spot... completely bent it so now its stuck in the car because the bumper gets in the way as you try to unscrew it and the bumper can't come off with the tow hook in. Idiots...

Yes. straight pulls only and make sure it is threaded all the way in. That being said I almost always pull people up a hill close to my house. I explain I am not responsible if there is damage and if they question me I tell them to wait for AAA

I used to help everybody I found during a storm. Now, I help the people who live on my hill up it, and tell them to stay home for the rest of the storm.
Everybody else I gauge how far into the snowbank they are. If they're just nosed in from a slow slide I'll pull them out and tell them to be careful. But if they're buried, I leave 'em there. They were obviously traveling too fast for the conditions and I'm not going to be the one to set them free to go maybe kill somebody.

I would say off road is a completely different animal. Generally, if someone is stuck off road, hopefully they understand the ins and outs of recovering a vehicle (and the expense of having a professional come do it). I would help someone out off road if I was equipped to do so.

Long ago my friend bought one of the S10 Blazers and thought that..despite my warnings.

My 4 banger 88 Chevy Celebrity made a 10 minute drive that took him 30 minutes, I was was ordering my 3rd pint of beer when he finally arrived.
