Just watch the NE buy/sell or Craigslist threads. You can get them pretty cheap usually.

My F150 requires a partial removal of the fender wells. 4 screws to pull it back far enough to get at the bulbs. :anonymous:

when i got hid's for my 06 civic si (in january) i thought "oh sweet i can install these real quickly after work!"
it took me forever to do one, my hands froze, i was laying in the snow with a wheel off, i gave up, and didn't install the other until spring

All the GM cars I had either had sealed beam headlamps, or had to remove the assembly with clips that were impossible to line up again.

I realized on my 93 I had painted myself into a corner on the headlights and kicked myself. I had sealed beam headlights which required pulling the grille off. I had the ARB on that truck too, which blocked removal of the grille.

In hindsight I should have either done the 4Runner front end swap or done the sealed beam ---> H4 conversion.

Painting the headlights gets you 90% of the Pro headlights for the cost of whatever your labor is and a can of spraypaint. The grille isn't a huge cost either. You'd probably end up losing value trading trucks. If you were still stock, I'd say go for it.

I did the H4 conversion on one of my cars. It was a huge difference in light output as well as easier to replace a bulb

What do you honestly gain going Pro over what you have? I guess you could argue that the TRD suspension setup is better than the 5100s up front and the 5160s out back are nice, but otherwise...anything else is a simple bolt on. I could understand if there was a motor difference or it was like something like an E39 M5 versus a modified 540i Sport...but I guess in this case I don't see the math working outside of having the "Pro" name.

Yeah...I immediately kicked myself on that one. Pennywise, pound foolish. I didn't want to spend the $100 for the Hella kit and didn't want to buy a cheapie kit. Those sealed beams were garbage, I used my 130w KCs pretty much whenever there wasn't cars around.

There's a puke green taco rolling around the Chelmsford area! I've seen it 3 times already. Its like a primer job gone horribly wrong.

While I'm here and hopefully not interrupting anything, does anyone know a place better than Maaco to sandblast, prime, and paint a motorcycle frame? Preferably in the northern Mass/southern NH area?? Please and thank you.

I just yank the headlight housing, much easier than screwing with the fender liner.

He can hook you up with a powder coater. If I were to paint a motorcycle frame, I'd really consider having it powder coated over regular automotive paint. Much more durable.
