Yup. Utility trailer was too short to have it down, tailgate would hit the lift cranking arm

I'm partial to the 5.0. I know the boosted engines have great reviews and make tons of power but I can't get my head around them either, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for a really long time. You can always make a small engine make a lot of power for a short period of time, but Carroll Shelby proved that a big engine just lumbering along is better for longevity.

What cab configuration are you looking at and what do you consider well equipped? You can get a crew cab, 4wd XLT for under $40k. Any engine will handle light loads, just pay attention to the options like the tow package and which axle ratio it has. I would avoid the 3:31 and 3:15 axles, the 3:55 is a nice compromise and the 3:73 is best for heavier towing. I have the 3:55 and I'd buy it again. Mine had the tow package but did not have a brake controller or remote start. I found out that Ford builds the trucks pre wired for a lot of options so you can buy modules and just plug them in. I added the factory brake controller and remote start and it required just plugging them in and then the dealer had to activate them.

THAT'S why! I knew there was a reason; I just couldn't remember it!

It's weird that they need to be activated to work after installing all factory parts. Silly Ford

Yeah, everything runs through the CPU. So it won't recognize them otherwise. When I installed my bed lamps they had to be activated by the dealer. Since I'd only had the truck a couple of weeks I pretended like the lights were installed at the factory and weren't working because they'd unplugged them to spray in the bed liner, so they did it for free.

Good for you. What kind of bedliner did you get? My buddy is getting a '17 Tundra TRD Pro and he says he's just gonna put a drop in liner in it

It's a Linex spray-in liner. I considered going for a hard plastic one, but they're slippery as hell. The spray-in unit isn't nearly as slippy-slidey.

Broncos, I think, are like the Jeep pickup truck. Everybody but the manufacturer wants to see them put back into production, lol.

My taco had the spray in bed liner and it was awesome. So much nicer than the drop in plastic liner in my pre-taco

Definitely. After the hard plastic liner I had in the '99 and the poly bed in my '10, I was ready for things to stop sliding around the bed.

How much was it if you don't mind me asking?
I think the 1st one looks like the original 60's Bronco

    Technically, nothing. Realistically, $500.
When I was haggling with the dealer I was trying to get them to drop another $500 on the price of the truck to be $32k even. After some back & forth they said they couldn't do it, so I said that I'd do $32,500 if they'd throw in a spray-in bed liner at no charge as part of the deal. They agreed, so I went for it.

That's cool. I'm sure they pay way less than you or I do but it sounds like a win win because you were gonna pay the $500 for the Line-X anyways

Correct. Larger tires on the outside of the box- 205's on 15" wheels which enables me to use radials. 7' wide box. I wanted an inline for a few reasons, the biggest being the larger tires which are way better in shitty weather. But yes, I towed it full loaded a few weekends ago and it was totally fine. Towed it perfect. And yes, I have put my sled in the back plenty of times. I really don't need another truck at all- I know that. Just fun to think.

The part I was thinking about is (and I just learned this at the last grass drags) you know that you are supposed to load the sleds in that type of trailer facing the back right?

Pretty much how I looked at it. And apparently they felt the same way. :notsure:
