^^^ supposedly by the low pressure readings it can be classified as the same strength as a Cat 1.

Overnight the sleet didn't stop pounding the side of the house and windows. Went out to the truck this morning and my driveway had damn near an inch of sleet on it.

Why? More shit to rust and not needed IMO. Sure Bilstein/ OME aren't as nice. But they do better longevity wise in all the salt and shit than fancy shocks.

Morning all! Two inches of ice balls on the ground today, and a hardshell coat of ice on the plow truck. Like driving on ball bearings; the plow crews haven't even touched the roads yet around here.

Mine too. 3 blinks. Plug a trailer in and it changes to 6 blinks.

That's not ideal. Planning a trip to flagstaff for snowmobiling in a couple weekends.

Yeah, pretty gross so far. The Flagstaff area should have more snow and less ice, though. They were forecast in the neighborhood of 4-8 before it changed over, I think. They'll groom that and blend the ice in pretty well.

I may look for some help on that install. Again, got a Class 4 hitch with a 4 pin to 7 pin connector kit (mine did not have any tow package at all, no hitch - only the 4 pin connector). Once I get all those on, I may be sending you a message. Saw the factory brake controller on Ebay for around $150 (same as you). Glad to hear its not that big of a deal to put in

    Good morning everyone. Happy Tuesday.

Yeah, same down here. Main roads are OK, but back/side roads are a bit messy still. No school down here and my son's daycare only opened at 8:30.

Did your truck come with the towing relay and fuse in the glove box or already installed? Mine came with the receiver and the same 4 and 7 pin connector, but the charging pole of the 7 pin connector isn't live until you plug in the relay and fuse under the hood. I guess they do that so the pin won't just rot out if unused. It's a nice feature to have, charges the trailer's battery while you drive.

I priced it out to be around the same investment as icons, I want extended travel and external resi's. For that price range the ome bp51's are lacking in adjustability and extended travel length is from what I researched shorter than the stock rear shock. Yes it will rust, however I barely drive the truck in the winter since I'm never home for the winters. I think this winter might be the first time I'm home for a part of the season... Plus they'll be fluid filmed immediately.

Plus if you saw my evo - I always buy expensive higher end stuff regardless.

Corrosion is what you really have to worry about with high end shocks since they are typically aluminum. You really have to protect the threads and keep an eye on the exposed shaft for pitting from the salt.

I had the same issue with my first set of HKS Coilovers on my evo, the second set I coated with a super thick layer of bearing grease on the threads and just brake cleaned them off in the spring and it worked out mint. The shafts I bought a spring cover that sort-of protected the coil/shaft area in the front but there isn't much I can do about the rear shocks on these trucks since they aren't coil over shock so I guess I'll just have to fluid film it and keep doing it periodically and hope for the best.

I should probably start using fluid film, right now i just use some spray on wax on everything lol

Not that I am sure of (honestly haven't looked - will do so). Mine came with nothing (no reviecer or 7 pin connector - only the standard 4 pin connector).

Oooh, I see. You might want to pull your dash panel to make sure you're prewired for the OEM brake controller before buying it. Or, check out the F150 forums to see if others with your build have the prewiring. Since mine came with the receiver, I knew mine would have the wiring behind the dash, not sure about those that didn't have anything.

Question for all: Went to get my RI state inspection and failed because of tint levels on my front driver's side and passenger's side windows. I found online for sedans and trucks (SUVs and MPVs are exempt for whatever reason) that the tint level for those windows must allow 70% of light in. My question is, if I purchased the truck in a state where the tint level was allowed from a dealership, is there a way to appeal this so I don't have to pay for someone to remove the tint? At least I have 30 days to sort this out now...I guess?

I really don't think there's any way to appeal. The vehicle doesn't meet the state standards and they won't register it until it's compliant.
