One year I drove to Burlington. Most scenic drive I've had. Can't remember the highway I was on. Might have been 84 or 87 something like that

Roughly, which roads did you travel? I hate to say that I will be skipping most of New York just because it is so "close" but I really want to soak in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine because I think I may never get to see them again. I love to drive, but not the interstate.

The Adirondack State Park is beautiful. If you get off 90 around Utica or there abuts and head north, northeast through the park, there are a lot of fun little mountain lake towns that I think you'd like. There are a ton of wineries in central NY if that's your thing, lots of hiking trails and beautiful scenery.

Parts of NY are really nice. Back roads in Hudson and Saratoga are pretty nice.

Route 100 in VT goes down through the green mountains. Nice views there. For Mass, north shore Cape Ann is also pretty. Rockport, Glouster, Salem, etc... Like history at all, then Boston area has plenty.

Trying to read up on what I need for my suspension setup (I know some of you don't agree but oh well). My question is I have seen some people use a 3degree shim and some don't. I don't plan on going up more than 2.5-3" with the King's and dakar combo for the rear.

So far here's what I'm pricing out
    - King's External Resi Fronts (Extended travel) 700# spring (yes I know I have a reason for it now)
    - King's External Resi Rears
    - OME Dakar's for the rear (drilled for slip shims to prevent creaking)
    - All-Pro Ubolt Flip kit with Timbren Bump Stop
    - 1/4" lean off set shim for the front
    - Extended braided brake lines (doing the breaks and replacing the front calipers anyways since my pads are wearing super uneven so they might be seized a little)

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
All 3 of the upper NE states are gorgeous. VT anywhere around Lake Champlain (take the ferry across from NY). NH, tons of cool things to do in Franconia Notch - drive the Kancamagus hwy (I call it the Kangamangus hwy) from Franconia Notch to Conway then to Mt Washington. For Maine another state with tons to do. This past year a group of us went up and found the lost trains and B52 bomber crash site in the northern woods. It's also got a great scenic coastline (ask others for route to travel). In Mass of coarse there is Boston (million things to do if you are into history) follow down into Plymouth (Plymouth rock) then go into Cape Cod however if your there in the summer beware of getting in or out of the Cape. In RI they have some VERY nice beaches and Newport is a great place to visit. Hope you and yours have a great time! Please take tons of pics and report back
No telling what degree shim you may need if any. Every truck is a little bit different. Might need to experiment. Also you don't need the 1/4" spacer, just use the adjustments on the coilovers to set your truck level. Very jealous BTW, sounds awesome!

You don't need a 1/4" spacer with adjustable coilovers in the front .
I had a shim in the back with my dakar leaf pack.
what does this mean? drilled for slip shims to prevent creaking)

Drive around the Newport, RI mansions (maybe tour the inside of one) and grab a bite to eat on thames st in Newport as well. You can also do the cliff walk.

Depending on how far north in Maine you are planning on going, check out Acadia National Park. I haven't been there yet, but definitely on my list of places to go. It is right on the ocean and supposed to be absolutely amazing. Check out pics on google.

I see you changed your avatar just for her picture, lol.

    :stirthepot:

As others have said, there's a lot of scenic cruising stuff available if you stick to the back roads in both states. Depending on when you're planning your trip, the Maine coast can be crowded. If you're planning on driving it (not sure if you wanted to go that far East), you should plan on North of Bar Harbor to avoid most of the crowds. Still extremely pretty and classic Maine coastline, but not nearly as full of people.
