Anybody ever try Penderyn whisky? It's a Welsh company. The GF brought back a couple of little sampler bottles for me because she knows I'm a whisky enthusiast (cough alcoholic cough). I tried one last night called Sherrywood which had been aged in old sherry barrels (shocking, I know) and it was amazingly good. Tons of flavors and scents. Now I'm trying to find a local retailer without success, lol. Might have to see if the local booze shop will special order it for me

This is why you pay to have a project superintendent manage projects and hire professionals to ensure your project goes smoothly. It costs money (sometimes a decent amount) to have someone doing oversight and inspections all day, but you can *greatly* reduce the potential for your new slab on grade foundation (for a highly anticipated school addition) from cracking after only 3 months. Chances are the contractor did a shitty compaction job and there was uneven settling (no utilities or footing under crack), but this little beast runs the entire length of the foundation and can be seen on the exterior. Wonder how much worse its going to get?

Going to have to drill through the nice new floor and install micropiles on a grid to keep this sucker from getting worse, notch a large V cut into the crack and refill/trowel with new cement.

Where did she get it from? I've been milking some Full Sail Burbon barrel aged beer since I got back from Oregon. Also been sipping on my Five Kings brandy from europe since I'll be re-upping when I head there later this year.

In Wales. She was out in England with a friend for a week and while they were there they made a detour into Wales and she picked up a little 3-nip souvenir pack for me.
I wasn't too impressed with the peated whisky (tasted like a bland Scotch), but this Sherrywood stuff was awesome.

Hm... the location I'm heading to has a big british influence - shoot me a photo of the bottle/label and I'll try to remember to take a look when I'm over there in May.

Depending on how bad it gets, there are foam injection products that can be used to support the slab. You basically just drill small holes on a grid and inject an expanding foam and it makes up for some minor settlement. I was the geotech on a project down south where it was really bad. We cored the slab and there was over a foot between the bottom of the slab and the stone base. The foam was a good option there because it evenly supports the slab and we determined that the settlement was most likely done.

Funny enough, I was researching those and the client isnt comfortable with that solution (not my call - just the first responder on this project. I need a structural engineer and a geotech engineer to deal with this one)

If it's recent, it might not be a good option as it will keep settling. In the case I was talking about, we cored the slab in several locations, did borings and penetration tests of the soil to determine that it had pretty much settled in at that point. The building was long since occupied also so the client was looking for a fairly non-intrusive option. It was a neat process and also wasn't my call on the fix. I also wasn't around long enough to see how it held up.

    Say no to crack...?
GASP!!!!!! But nah, mine is getting accessories installed at port right now. Homelink auto-dimming mirror, all-weather floor mats, footwell illumination kit, arm rest extender, and some other goodies I'm probably forgetting.

got my scs wheels mounted today at the shop down my street. Had them do an alignment too. Pretty solid results. I recommend Larrin automotive in norwood for alignment needs. the tech's there know what they are doing.

So ever since my cowl leaked. i have no break lights, no left blinker, sometimes a right blinker and my abs lights are on. Does anyone have any input on this or seen this before? Its getting really sketchy driving like this and I won't be able to make it to a shop until friday. WTF!
