Since it looks like the storm passed, I guess I better get started on detailing dad's truck

 

Most from that time required taking half of the dash apart to access the radio. And GM left no room behind the dash, which is why dash kits usually stuck out about an inch.

 

Here's a mental picture...

Old house coat, extra wide lipstick, Benson & Hedges 100's, scotch on the rocks with a raspy voice R^2G calls over "Hey, come ovea hear and give me a kiss"...

My favorite from the shows is when some guy walks up and says he had a Nova just like mine in college.
It was blue, had four doors, and a straight six,but it was "just like mine".

 

There was a beautiful 68-72 (apologize I don't know the exact year, not as good with the Novas as I am with the Chevelles) with a 427 stuffed under the hood.

Talk about a tight fit.

 

My 86 Celebrity was just a temporary car, so I pulled the ashtray..used an adapter and ran the wires out that way, then taped the radio to the hump on the floor.

My 88 Celebrity on the other hand had no radio when I bought it but the adapter plate installed..nice and easy

Even aired down I didn't think they were very good in the rocks. My Goodyear Wrangler authorities were way better aired down
