    I'll be leaving work early a lot because I'm on easy street for the foreseeable future. We have $7 million in backlog and my boss is telling me to lay off the bidding. That's a lot for a small commercial drywall company. All I have to do is manage my ongoing work, no need to bid or sell. I just told him I don't think I'll be in at all next week and he said, "Why not leave tomorrow- I know I am!" Life is finally good again in commercial construction! The other day, boss went out to Sams club to get paper towels and when he came back he was in some $140k Corvette he bought on a whim. 650hp I guess? I don't know cars but you guys probably know exactly what it is. I'll get a pic of it next time he drives it in.

    We've got a stupid schedule for next week. Rather than just give us Monday off, we've got to come in for a full day on Monday, then take Tuesday off, then work again on Wednesday. And Monday's going to be dead; 99% of the small, privately-owned shops are closed Monday, and probably around half of the chain stores are too.
