There's none in MA for some reason, but there's one about 20 minutes from me in Vermont. It's too bad, they're way better than Cumby's.

Whenever I need gas for the mowers, I drive there and get ethanol free for them and a couple of Stewart's burgers for me.

Yeah, I've heard that their lobster rolls are amazing. I just don't like lobster, so I've never gotten one, haha! I'm totally that guy sitting on the deck at Sarah's with a beer and a burger, watching people stand in line.

That's exactly what we did when we came back to town via the boat a few days later, sat outside and watched the line crawl while we had a drink. What's up with Sarah's being the only bar in town?

My favorite lobster roll is from this place, Sesuit Harbor Cafe in Dennis MA. Cash Only, BYOB, with only outdoor seating by the harbor. Amazing raw bar, also.

^^^ Yes you do cause summer is almost over!

Someone talk me out of this GMC Canyon I am close to buying with this 4cyl diesel.. it's a damn nice looking truck and gets 28mpg highway. I can get a 17 for under $40k.

Is it a piece of shite or what?

They're kind of an old-school New England town, I think. They're pretty dry.

You'll take a long time to save enough gas to pay for that diesel, especially once you figure in the extra cost of buying the cow piss to clean up the emissions?

    :notsure:

FWIW, I like the look of the Canyons, except for that chin-dragger look they've got.

I've been giving them a look. I haven't seen a lot of information on the diesel version so far, good or bad. For that kind of money, is there a reason you wouldn't just go with a full size? Look at Noelie's 2.7 ecoboost, good power, fuel economy is pretty good, tows well and is a bigger truck. Diesel comes with some additional headaches like more expensive oil changes and the emissions B.S.

And you can troll 2.7 Tacoma owners.'

Edit- plus, 2017 is the last year of the 6 speed for the 2.7's, I think. I'm pretty sure in 2018 they're getting that 10 speed unit with the triple overdrive.

Probably doesn't hurt to check out the colorado/canyon forums. The diesel is new to the US but I think its been used around the world for a while, but don't quote me on that. They are nice looking on the outside and inside!

Yeah, I don't know what I have against a full size, I just do. I like the mileage the diesel gets but you're right Noel, it's probably break even until at least 100k miles, possibly more. And fuel costs are just going to go up. I know the 2.7 ecoboost is the truck I should get ultimately.

Personally, I say get what you want. If you like the Canyon, do some research and if it looks good, go for it.

    But the 2.7EB F150's still better :- P

I watched a few of the TFLTruck videos on the Canyon diesel a while back and they did some interesting comparisons. The one that got my attention was a towing MPG comparison against the F150 with a 5.0, towing 5,000 lbs. The F150 got 8 MPG and the Canyon diesel was close to 12. That's a pretty staggering difference. Granted, they do their tests at higher altitude so any naturally aspirated engine is at a disadvantage, but that's still a huge difference.

Wow, with the towing I do all winter I may be able to justify it.

And at least it wouldn't be no Ford

True, but if you tow the Canyon close to its limit the avg drops to around 6mpg's, according to another of their tests where they maxed it. The 5.0 stayed pretty much the same when they maxed it, around 4.

What sold me on the 2.7 was the comparison test that they did between the 2.7EB and the 3.5EB; the 2.7 kept pace with the 3.5 (actually was a few seconds faster up the Ike) and averaged 1mpg better (at a still-dismal 4.3) while towing an identical load, that yellow Bronco that they use.

If he waits until 2018, you'll be able to get a diesel in the F-150 also. Personally, I can't wait to see how that works out.

I like the GM trucks. I am biased as I use to have an s10, and my dad is on his 3rd chevy fullsize. They have outgrown the quality issues that plagued them during the 90s/early 00's. But with the way vehicles are, there is no guarantee that a new truck won't have issues right out of the gate. 3rd Gen is a perfect example of that.

You are correct, I saw the 6 MPG run up the Ike also (which still isn't bad). I liked the 5k lb tow test because that's basically what it would be like towing my camper. I do a little better than the F150 in their test and I would equate that to the altitude. Again, I'd hold out for the F150 diesel and see what that's all about.
