I think that their attitude was that they'd sell that Tacoma with or without me, so I should just pay sticker price, get bent over on my trade, and be happy about it, lol.

So is anyone here interested in picking up a stock steely for their spare? I'll have 3 to get rid of.

I picked up a set of 4 painted steel wheels, which I'll swap on once I touch them up. Then I'll paint one of my current steelies to match and put it on the spare. At that point I'll have 3 stock steelies and one spare tire wheel to get rid of on the cheap.

Also, don't forget to factor in deprecation value! Nothing against the Fords (I have very good luck with them) but they don't hold their value like a Toyota. Not even close
Read above ^^^. Better gas mileage is great but what you save now you'll most likely loss later. Crazy how the Toy's hold there value

Side note. How are you making out getting your windshield and headliner fixed?

True, but at this point I'm planning on driving it for a very long time.
Windshield is getting looked at tomorrow, and I have an appointment for the headliner on Monday. So we'll see how that works out, lol. I'm going to insist that the glass tech remove and reinstall the windshield rather than just trying to slop some sealant into the leak, which I'm sure he'll be grouchy about. But at this point I really don't care, lol.

The first day where the tech didn't have a 'really busy day' was Thursday, so that was the day that I took. I told them that I wanted him to be able to take his time.

Yeah, I'm sick of dealing with it. I was supposed to have an appointment for the headliner yesterday but I got a call saying that the wrong one had come in so it got pushed out until Monday while they reordered the correct one from Ford. Which is just as well, because that way the tech can't booger the new headliner while he's working on the windshield tomorrow.

From when I have seen them replace windshields, they usually break the glass more taking them out then what damage was already done

I don't think it's being shady, just that Ford, Dodge and Chevy are a lot more willing to negotiate. If you pay sticker on one of those, you're seriously doing something wrong. Toyota doesn't seem to want to move much on their pricing.
I always wonder when that bubble is going to burst. They have used prices soo close to new, who buys all these used Toyotas? I just can't see how that model is financially sustainable.

Not my problem if they do. They installed the replacement off-center so it leaks and I've got wind noise from the passenger side any time I go faster than 50MPH, so the option I gave them was that they can either fix it or I'll take it someplace else and mail them the bill. I'm done playing with these idiots

I know, I'm just saying they'll probably replace it. I know Toyota's hate aftermarket windshields, wonder if Ford's are the same too

In the spring once the STI is back on the road. For now, I'm gonna put it on a lift and pressure wash the underside, then undercoat with the stuff we sell here.

Ah, I see. It's possible. They make them all so damn thin now to save 1/2lb of weight I wouldn't be too surprised if it did.
