Two weeks after I bought my truck I got a remote start, I think off of Ebay with a two-way remote.
The manufacturer was Fortin, I think their Chrimestopper series something like that.

I got it for $250, and the seller had a great install video on YouTube.
With out the 2-way it was only $200.
It had all the disabling stuff that by passes the chip key. I'm not sure what it had for standards but I'll bet they cover that.

I like the 2-way because it gives me feed back; yes I started the X,and locked the doors. you have 20 min and i'm shutting this off, and i'm going to beep and vibrate every min.until then.

I love it, I get done showering etc. and start the truck from my 2nd flr, then go down and make coffee then I'm out. To a warm melting truck.

I'm to cheap to let my vehicle run for 20 minutes. Got seat warmers, and honestly, with this truck I'll start it, count to about 15 then drive easy for about 2 to 3 miles, then the heat is cranking. The one thing I wish is the clutch pedal wasn't so slow when it's cold, but that's my leg work out in the morning by pumping a few times before take off.

I got to messing around with my truck again this week. I bought an ELM chip and downloaded this program called Forscan. With the trial license, I can do almost what a Ford tech could do to my truck. If you know what you're doing, you can rewrite the program for the entire truck. I'm reading about all the little mods I can do now, but it's pretty incredible that this kind of software is readily available, and free!

Ford is less restrictive with their firmware than other companies. When I had GM vehicles, it was harder to find tools like this, especially with as many options to tweak. One of my cars, I had to order a reflashed ECU, then pay someone with a Tech II to reset the crank position sensor to the engine.

In case people wonder about how long my trip was, I have this here, which might be lower due to the Speedo being off with the 35s. According to Google maps its roughly 870 miles one way.

Don't larger tires slow down the odometer?

Yes, if I put the Speedo at 70, my GPS says I'm going 75/76

I think you would have more miles than what your odometer says.

I only have 33's, and mine is off about the same. When I'm doing 70, I'm really doing 75. I've verified it with GPS, and those police radar things.
