And my Nova was considered a compact car when it was new.
Chevelle was mid size and Impala/Caprice was full size.

A good friend of mine bought a 1980 Z-28 350 4 speed car with the cowl induction hood for just under 10k brand new.

 

The Challengers were a 'sport compact' too when they were around the first time.

 

According to Wikipedia, the later models were considered compact.

 

Naw, I know I'm not attractive.

God help anyone trying to cram 2 child seats in the back of a small car. I have a hard enough time shoe horning them into the Escape. I have a really hard time getting the seats tight enough if I don't have enough room to get over the seat and push down on it (especially the rear facing ones). That being said, my cousin has 2 car seats in the back of his Evo...

 

We raised 4 kids and all my wife had was a Ford Focus ZX5! Americans are too obsessed with big vehicles! Every other country in this world does just fine with small to medium size cars being the norm.

 

Yeah cars are fine although a 4Runner would make a hot mom mobile

Car seats have gotten a lot bigger from your first to your last though, haven't they? Once they're in place, they're fine. I was talking about the act of getting them securely in the car.

 

They make super fancy car seats that are unnecessary big. They still make car seats that are not supersized and offer plenty of protection for the children

Went to the local Walmart after dinner with the youngest, while the wife took the oldest to the library.

No fire extinguishers. Said they don't carry them in the store, but I can order online and pick up. Fail #1.

While at the library, the wife gets fined for books that were supposedly returned late in August, and only gets told now. Mind you she was there last week, no mention of it, and they actually tried to screw her for the same thing from the previous time, which she proved them wrong (she made them go look for the books on the spot, which they found, and were claiming hadn't been returned yet). Safe to say their logging system SUCKS ASS?? I'd say so. Fail # 2.

 

What's a library? That like... Amazon books?

LOL. The wife started going with the oldest in the summer because every Thursday night they did a bedtime story thing. Decided to keep going because he enjoyed going, even after they stopped doing the bedtime story thing. Guess she should have stopped. It's not because of the money, because the fee was almost nothing, but it's the principle of the thing. Their system sucks.

 

Honda dropped the ball on their V6 automatics bad in the early 2000s. IIRC there were a bunch of recalls on them.

My Mom traded a 2012 Rogue she bought new for a 2015 Forester. Took a hit but she loathed the Rogue as it was nearly impossible to see out of and was a bit on the thrashy side. I like the CVT of the Forester a lot better. The sight lines are amongst the best of any vehicle I've driven. She is a huge fan of it so that's all that matters.
