New England B.S. Thread

My truck is a late production 2011, so it definitely has the Metalsa frame. It's nearly flawless after six New England winters. I'm just starting to see a tiny bit of rust on the welds.

Hopefully that's an indication of how the newer ones are.

 

Yeah there's some holes. The old apartment had plenty, but they are so small it's trivial to spackle and paint them.

Let's do it! I don't know many places downtown, but I'll think of somewhere fun in the area to meet up!

You won't hear any remarks from me! I quit smoking around 18months ago, but it's gotta be a choice you make on your own. So I tend to live and let live.

Yeah sometimes I do! Cricket is easy to play with someone who doesn't play much haha

I have a gym at the office, but no motivation to go work out alone. And all the ones by my house are expensive as shit. And busy!

 

We have some equipment in a room that is available for staff to use during lunches, after work, pretty much any time the building is open. Motivation is too low for me to bother. Which is especially crazy because I have keys and alarm codes, so I could stop by 24/7.

I had quit for 4 months, but like i stated before, my emotional state was insane, literally.

I'd like to get back into shape and lose about 60-80lbs but need to work towards that

 

I hope we dont start getting snow that stick to the ground. Im loving the scat pack with all the cool air in the morning. Plus this doesnt look like fun.

i love working out alone, i hate people

i just have a jump rope and small free weights, i do that in front of the tv when it's too cold to go running

 

We have a great one at my office. Its packed during 630-830AM, 1130AM-130PM, 5-7PM. Which is why I get to work at 630, work for a few hours and then go to the gym at 915 . I went for a run this morning outside, but had I not, I would have been the only one there.

 

it's way too cold now to go running let alone this morning! i'd have died

i hate when gyms are packed. but i find that i get better results going running or jumping rope anyway

 

Noo! I just wore a loose long sleeve shirt and shorts. I had my base layer tights with me but wasn't needed at all! Was a little chilly for the first mile, but the next 3 were great.

 

i wore boots, a tweed blazer, and a vest over for work today and froze

 

Speaking of cold/snow season coming up:

What is NE's favorite brand of windshield wiper? Bosch Icon? Rain-X? Something else?

 

I have the Icons on mine. No complaints so far.

 

I hate running, so so much. It's fucking boring and hurts my joints. I'd much rather Oly lift, or row/ assualt bike.

That being said I'm attempting an ultra beast (26+miles on a mountain with obstacles) in April. Granted trail running is much different than on the road and much easier on the joints.

 

if i could do trail running all the time i'd much rather do that. goes by way faster too. i just don't know where to do that

 

Trail running is so much more fun and enjoyable than road running. I try to get out every weekend for at least a few miles of trail runs. Once a month I usually do about a 10-14 mile trail run. Unfortunately nowhere I can trail run during the week close to work.

The ultra is definitely going to be challenging

 

I go to state parks to do my longer trail runs. Purgatory Chasm is a fun one to do 10 miles at.
