    They are not replacing the frame...they examined it and determined it still fine, just cosmetically bad so they are doing the surface protectant procedure...whatever that is...I'll have to get details tomorrow...But I have yet to remove a bolt from that truck without 1/2 gallon of PB blaster and an 18" breaker bar...so I don't know how the heck they are going to break down the truck and do the frame job. They said it should take about 5 days so they are giving me a loaner. There is so much corrosion on this truck...135K on Massachusetts roads..

    Wife had a forrester for 5 years, an '10...and we had a lot of fun with the "head gasket just sort of leaks/you burn oil"...she would NEVER make it to an oil change without running dry of oil...had to add a quart or 2 between oil changes and I swear there was never more than 3 quarts to drain if you did that....if you didn't add it you had less than 1 quart of sludge to drain...very dicey. I asked them about it and they pointed out that the manual says to check your engine oil every gas fill up so that's their cya...

    They just spray over the rust, and the shit falls off. They don't take anything apart, that would take time.
    What is the image? I have never been able to see it. Am I the only one?

    yup their spray job is absolute crap. It was done to my parents old 02 tundra and 03 sequoia, It didn't do a damn thing. Year or two later, all rust.

    Yeah, I have seen it on a tundra and multiple tacomas. It looks like Rustoleum rubberized undercoating to me, but it just comes off in chunks with the rust that the spray it over.
