Hard as it is, my best advice is to turn the other cheek. Not saying you have to be close with her one on one, just at family stuff do your best.

Same type of thing I go through with my sister..never close anyway and she never has any use for me unless she needs something, although at least in my case she is civil enough at family stuff. Pisses me off that I barely get to see my niece and nephews, plus some other things I've learned about that I may have been better off not knowing shall we say.

I thought you needed custom tie rods. You get them sorted out or are you just driving it as is?

 

Cleaning up the garage and found something I forgot I had. The power pop and lock, for the tailgate.

Not sure if I'll be able to put it on... Running wires and things like that always freaks me out. I think I bought it when I was was feeling "brave" and forgot I had it. LOL

 

put that sucker in! it shouldn't be hard. you just need to have the right torx bit to get into the tailgate

 

Might have to try one day... Whenever I feel brave...

 

I used to be afraid of it too but honestly wiring isn't too bad.

It's pretty easy. Soldering is the toughest part, the rest is sort of common sense. Red to red, black to black and make sure it's fuse protected.

 

Wanted to share some numbers from my trip from CT to MD to CT to get my new step-side bed.
2002 Tacoma base 2.7l 4, 5spd.
going down empty 351 miles, 18.475 gallons fuel - 19mpg.
returning with bed strapped on the back 350 miles, 20.381 gallons - 17.17mpg.
(and there were a bunch of 70 ((75?)) MPH legal zones.)

Coming back I needed to drop into 4th for most of the uphills, which I didn't do going down.
As a comparison, returning from Toys 4 Tots + wheeling, I got 20.77 mpg, maybe 30% country roads, the rest along highway 84.

Mine wouldn't transfer wheels and the aftermarket ones for steel and alloy wheels have different part numbers. Pretty sure even tirerack says they can't be transferred. But i had my TPMS light removed

Whatever works. I'm out that way often. Have some friends that live there. And i don't have a ton going on. Plus I'll be driving by you next month anyways haha

 

So does anyone have any opinions on roll on bed liners? Is there a difference between them? The Chevy dealer seems to do something called Ultimate Lining, I can get LineX and I haven't found a place yet but I have heard of Rhino Lining. They all seem to be right around the same price, $500 bucks or so. I'm gonna be loading a sled in my bed from time to time and need to protect against the studs and carbides, so I want whatever is the best.

 

I'll just add in that grounds in Tacomas, at least all the ones I have worked on, are white with a black tracer. Except the thick gauge coming off the battery post
