If I'm going slow and they are tight.

 

Only wen I am turning slow like pulling in a parking spot. When I break sometimes my truck vibrates depending on how hard I break.

 

Are your CV boots spewing grease?

The 'only in reverse' is unusual, but CV's that are going bad are usually what will make a clunking/clicking noise during a tight corner. The boots fail, they spray their grease out, and then the joints go bad. The worse they get, they more noise they make.

Edit- If the CV boots look good, my other guess without actually seeing your truck would be that the sway bar bushings are shot and they're letting the bar shift.

How long have you owned the truck? When you drive 20MPH and slam the wheel back and forth does it click? When did it get inspected?

I would suspect
tie rods(would have been inspected)
Ujoints (would not have been inspected)
Wheel bearing (might be inspected)
Sway Bar links
Loose Lug nuts but you would hear that anywhere
And As others said a CV.

I would start by putting the truck in neutral and wiggling both Dshafts back and forth. Any clunking and slop is bad. Then lift the front two tires off the ground. Wiggle each wheel side to side and up and down. Wheel should be tight on hub and the tie rods should have minimal play no clunking.

Cv shaft is the hardest to diagnose as you can’t really feel the play in it. What you can do to determine the side is have someone drive your truck in the manner to make it clunk while you walk and listen/ put your hand on the fender feel for the shudder. Good luck.

I hangout in the Charleston area. Its very nice and lots of things to do and places to eat. If you are in the area there go to Sewee Outpost in Awendaw, great country store, my buddy use to work there. If you want to play golf look at Mt. Pleasant and Hilton Head Island both in SC

 

just dropped truck off to get 20% tint. second guessing myself and might call to get 35 and play the safe route. what do you guys think? just wondering with the new inspection laws
