New England B.S. Thread

I have never been a fan of undercar creepers - they have always been a pain to roll around on in my driveway since its not a smooth surface. I can see it being nice on a smooth garage floor but I hated using mine so I just keep large sheets of cardboard to crawl around on. Over the last 3 years I switched to using these foam floor tiles - they work great because I keep a bunch in the truck at all times and they're cushioned a bit. They don't absorb the grease and I can just brake clean them off.

So clearly you are not a NYC B. You are a native which is a very different animal.

But this area is over run with people who work in NYC & would live closer to The City if they could afford it. That's not you.
The NYC B are the folks who (for whatever reason) are not quite the cream of the crop in NYC, but are trying to be. Might be they've only just gotten into the game & haven't climbed the ladder - yet. Might be they just don't have "it". Might be they lack the hunger to be the best of the best.... Whatever. Those are the B as I see it.
...and I'm not saying it's good or bad, just it's what I see. I consider myself a NYC B (even though I walked away), because I got tired of the win or lose daily battle. Just not worth it to me anymore, so here I am. I prefer having a soul over flowing obscene amounts of money (because it goes out as fast as it comes in at every level).

LOL - but I expect you take more offense at being called a NYer than being called a B.

I want to raise the garage roof first, trying to decide to go up 1 or 2 door panels, but the job should be easy. Unbolt the sill plates, couple layers of block, rebolt the sills, panels & track added to the door & done. Picking the right lift for me - that's the hard part , IMO.

What do you plan to do with the lift? Work on vehicles or more for storage purposes?

Little bit of working on vehicles, little bit of battling rust, little bit of Fluid Film, snow tires changeovers, would be nice to get 3 cars in the garage (have 2 in there now & it's a 1 car garage). DIY handyman stuff. Would be nice to be able to host TW wrenching sessions.

 

Na just maintenance items and new headlights

I'd prefer a 2 post lift, but if you can find a drive on with the pnuematic lifting system or hydraulic system that would work as well
