I know it. He ran, I got behind him and flashed my lights at him a few times and he actually pulled over and stopped. I got out of my truck and told him i'm calling the fucking cops don't move. I got back to my truck and he put it in drive and took off. I followed him at like 60 mph while I was on the phone with the police department. He finally stopped and pulled in a drive way... then just used the drive way as a 3 point turn. he took off again in the same direction we just came from! Then about a half mile down the street he shut his lights off and pulled in his drive way. I blocked the end of the driveway and waited for the cops.

There is a house right behind the Mediterranean Restaurant that has real tropical trees in the yard. I believe he might sell them. He might have a palm trees too

Rebecca @DoubleRGirl Here's the house I was talking about. This is right behind the restaurant. See the palm trees in the planters in the driveway. Buy one, plant it and decorate it! Lol

Unfortunately you can’t get arrested for leaving the scene. He will get a criminal summons for leaving the scene property damage and whatever infraction caused the accident such as following too closely.

Usually people who run like that don’t have a drivers license or are uninsured. Normally you can get arrested for unlicensed/suspended but that’s only if the police observe you driving. Even if he admits to it can be proved he still gets summonsed.

Kind of sucks because it gives shitheads a reason to drive away. They know they won’t get arrested and their car won’t be towed from their driveway. Courts won’t have any real penalty 95% chance he pays a small fine and the case is dismissed so he does it again.

 

Sweet I definitely have some reading to do. Won't bother doing an install until warmer spring anyhow.

This is what is soooooooooo stupid. We can get people arrested / convicted for witnessing armed robbery/rape/murder but we can't arrest them even if they admit to driving away from a scene? So dumb!
