I don't either for the same reason. Being gone 12 hours a day is too much.

Not to mention if I go hiking in Maine or something I'd have to figure out a place for it to be for a couple days.

120 year old german custom job in 16ga. with hammers.
It has 2 3/4 inch chambers, but my smith recommended 2 1/2 inch powder puff specialty shells that are easy on the old girl.

This is spot on! If you don't have time for your own dog, you can always go visit a local shelter and play with one, or you could most likely call any friend you have and say "Hey, could I take your dog for the day? or "Hey, I was going to go for a hike, do you think your dog would want to come" and they will love you for it.

It's not fair to leave a dog alone all day with nothing to do and no way to go outside. If you could get it a buddy or two, and have a dog door to the back yard, I think that'd be okay.

    Very Purdy. Get it?

No shooting steel shot out of that one, though.

Which is fine; doesn't take much to knock a grouse/partridge down. It'd be a shame to have it go WHOOMPF.

    No,no,no.
It was made in Bavaria and has the typical Bavarian cheekpiece.
Funny, the original owner probably had the same build as me as this gun comes up fast and fits me like a glove.

    (yes,I got it)

I live in MA, I have no idea what kind of crap they'd come up with if they really tried. Fortunately, my town seems to be pretty level-headed.
I like that one  And, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the Grand Design.

If that's your schedule, an Australian Cattle Dog isn't for you. You want something much lazier. Great Danes actually make pretty good dogs for that, they tend to be fairly lazy but will still get out and run when they get the chance. If you just want a dog that will be chill and lazy all the time, get a bull dog.

Yeah, it has the completely wrong lines for a Purdey, and every one of them I've ever seen has had a top lever.

Yeah, I agree. The other issue is when I do go on a hiking trip I can't always bring a dog anyway--Katahdin doesn't allow them, for instance. Other times, it's a day trip with friends and a 4 hour drive, and we go out to eat after the hike. I'd feel bad having the dog cooped up in the truck that long.

Had one grenade on me several years ago shooting at a pair of Turkeys.
Killed both birds, but i had to count my fingers after this catastrophic failure.
Never found out why. Metal fault or ammunition defect. Had to put it on the back burner as I had other things to deal with back then.
Took me a long time to shoot Federal again.

    Wasn't too valuable.
late 70's Rossi 12ga hammer gun with 3" chambers.
It was 20 years old and NIB when I bought it. used it for several years for pheasant and Turkey.
Clean barrel, no obstructions. Just don't know.

I am putting ALL of you on stand by, in case I need a place to crash.

Yes, I bought the PRO suspension. Buying it from Camelback. Gary is waiting to get it on Friday, to then send me the invoice so I can pay and he can ship.

Going to see when I get it, so I can shoot up to Drew and get it put on.

Let the :duel:begin IF or WHEN the wife finds out.
