I usually go to the Dennisport, Cape Cod so I am used to being in tons of traffic. We will leave the 1st and come back the 7th.

 

Payload on the tacoma is 1100 or something and the Tundra was only like 1700 so im like might as well go to a 250/2500 where it's like 3.3k+

 

I loved the 15 years I was driving Tacomas but I have to say, I don't miss that fucking empty passenger seat shaking and vibrating like an epileptic on cocaine with a Red Bull chaser.

 

My conundrum about jumping to a 250/2500 is the physical size of the truck. I can handle it just fine, but nervous about the wife driving it around and then trying to fit it into places (parking garages and such). The 3.3k payload is nice till you run it empty and get bounced around a bit.

But I'd love to have a diesel 3/4 ton for my daily never have to worry about anything (minus the monthly payments haha)

You're going to the wrong side of Dennis . Dennis is where it's at. My family has had a house 1/4 mile walk to the beach in Dennis since the 1950s.

yeaaaahh I keep seeing some deals on '15 and '16 4Runners but I'd have to rip all the stuff off of the Tacoma to trade it in. But I know I need a truck (to much towing and hauling around things I don't want in an SUV)

But yeah that stupid seat likes to move around when no one is in it. Started to notice both front seats creak to when ppl are in it

 

Yep. Preach. I feel the same way. I think the wife's car is nearing it's death, or at least it feels like that to me. Sooner or later we'll have to get rid of it. If and when we do, I'm going to try and convince her to either get a Highlander or a 4Runner.

 

My buddies wife is really happy with her Highlander. They are great minivans- I mean SUV's

 

I'm starting to put it in my brothers head he should sell me his Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk for cheap this fall. He's usually good for doing a car swap every two years and he's getting to that point. Plus he can "gift" it to me and then I don't have to pay tax on it haha

If that pans out then the Tacoma stays and the wife gets that. Trying to avoid 2 car payments as much as possible.

I'd vote 4Runner over Highlander (just how I am). I would imagine she would like the Highlander more and its also a much more practical family car

 

You walk too far lol. Campground has it's own beach. This will be the first year we don't go in nine years and like 15 years for my wife.

 

Yeah, I think she like the Highlander more than the 4Runner for that same reason/logic.

 

We used to go there once a year when I was a kid. I brought my wife to a place right near there (Pelham House Resort) the 1st time we ever went away for the weekend

 

made reservations there once, before the trailer, then we got our first pup and we ended up at a bed n breakfast that allowed dogs

 

Why an F250? Just curious. And diesel or gas? The gas models are absolute pigs, and it's the same for every manufacturer. Ram's 6.4 is surprisingly the best on gas but still only gets 12-14 on a good day.

If you're going to do the deep dive into payload, there are a few things to consider. The F150 with the heavy payload package has a ridiculous payload number north of 3k lbs. The 250/2500s with gas engines have good payload numbers. Get a 250/2500 with a diesel and that number drops to just over 2k lbs, just something to consider...

Take a look at my post above, if you want the payload but not the big truck, check out the F150 with the heavy payload package. Chevy makes a heavy payload package for their 1500 also. You'd pretty much have to custom order it though, I haven't seen one on any dealer lot around here. They will ride nicer than an unloaded 3/4 ton also.

 

We used to rent on the dennisport side cause there wasn't any on the bay side. Now we are all happy on the wayside. Corp, mayflower beaches are our favorite

 

I noticed the price difference between an F150 and F250 really isn't that much. But I acknowledged that I have no need for a 3/4 ton truck.

I wanted to order my F150 with the HD Payload package, but they basically force you into a base model if you do that and I wanted the 302a package much more than I cared about a 2k+ payload. I think my new one is rated right around 1650 lbs payload, which is plenty for me.

 

We go to the beach past mayflower, bayview beach. It's smaller and the parking lot there requires a residence pass that can only be had if you own a house down there. Anyone can still get dropped off/walk there though. It's great there and some real good restaurants close by.
