Best to set them where you want your caster ahead of time and just tell them you want to maintain xx caster

Isn't the point of going to a pro, that the pro will know and do what is right and you don't have to worry?

I know and have learned the hard way it isn't reality....but I really wish it was.

Literally none of them have seen LR UCAs. They are easy to set via the adjustable star joint at the top. Set via included instructions and tell the alignment tech what you want. Lifted truck preferred alignment specs are going to be different than what their computer tells them anyways.

If you can find someone willing to deal with them good on you, but most don't want to take the extra 10 minutes.

I don't think I have seen these UCA's either, what is the advantage to them? Just more adjustability for people who are doing larger lifts?

And again, I am not saying he shouldn't prep it to get done right, I just like the idea of walking into a shop and saying "This is wrong fix it" Then have some guy who knows massive amounts more about cars or whatever I am having repaired than me, magically fix it.

Caster is set to +2 as you have to pick a setting to install them. Camber is in the middle of the slot. I'm not overly worried about it.

    Morning everybody.
Backflies are out. I drove from Wales to Limerick to Farmington & back to Wales yesterday on a piglet run and my truck was plastered with dead bugs by the time I got home. Power washer made short work of them, but still a pain.
On the plus side, 16.8 mpg on the trip, hand calc'd.

Speaking as a short person, I appreciate that particular design decision on my '84

I'm currently at Safelite getting my windshield replaced and the tech comes in to tell me my new windshield won't have the tint on there. I never realized I had tint on there but people would comment that my windshield was much darker than normal. Purchased the truck while I was in Florida so it makes sense. Now I'm kind of sad because I just put in Clazzio leather covers and it's going to be even hotter in the cab this summer with no tint.

When I'm hauling livestock, yes. But mostly it was because I was spending a lot of time in the 50-60mph sweet spot for mpg's on this truck, since it was back roads/secondary roads for most of the trip.

Yeah, but the Sierra's a half ton. I thought that the truck was yanking me when it was reading almost 17mpg, but I tanked up this morning and it matched up. 187 miles on 11.1 gallons, which is really damn good for a 3/4 ton gasser.

But, I can remember when 14-15 was good for a half ton, too (back when they all had 3 and 4 speed automatics) so 21 is nothing to sneeze at. I can remember being thrilled when I used to get 18mpg's in my parent's V6 Dakota

I'm up to 22.5 on my hilly rural commute. Tacoma was getting 19 in the summer on the same drive. Can't complain about that!

Update on new windshield: Since the old windshield had tint, my inspection and parking sticker could not be reattached. Anyone know if I can get a replacement MA inspection sticker? No big deal if not, it expires in July so I'll just leave it taped for a couple months. I'll probably do the same for the parking sticker because I'm ghetto like that.

Not necessarily for larger lifts, just infinitely more adjustment than stock via offset mounted ubj which can be rotated 360 deg which is also slotted to adjust camber.

I think you just have to go get a new inspection
