Possibly a FREE 9 1/2 x 16 1/2 (or just about) shed that my inlaws' neighbor is giving away.

Sweet! The only thing you should look into are the zoning 'definitions' for yard setbacks. Each Town I work in is different and some count the overhangs of a structure while some do not as having to meet the setbacks. Do you need to pull a permit to place the shed? If not (as I would imagine being the case), don't stress yourself out with trying to place it. Most Towns in MA do aerial surveys every couple of years to find building violations or unpermitted work/expansions. A new shed, if it does not need a permit to place on your lot, would not even show up on their radar.

Ahh that makes sense. We did first time home buyers, but with Rural development. If we sold the first year, there was a big penalty but it decreased until year five, then it increased every year until year 10 and then none after that.

Yeah, we looked at USDA loans but opted not to go that route because of that reason, since we were planning on doing a slow flip right from the start.

When I put a shed on my lot in Wethersfield I needed a permit. Kloter Farms provided me all the needed paperwork, town took it issued a permit. All I needed to to was layout the location on the plot map and maintain 5ft setbacks on the property lines. So I went 6ft on one side and 8 ft on the other. That way if I need to expand I still have 3ft to use and still maintain the set back guidelines.
As a side note, regardless of what size shed you get "it's going to be to small". Ha Ha

Any idea what the set backs are for a pool in Bellingham? I may need some surveying work done in a year or two.

So I've got a few boxes of trains that are in really good condition. They are from the 50s/60s, and I don't have a lot of info on them but I can pull them out for pics. Some of the tracks have a little surface rust, but the trains themselves are in very good condition. They even have trestle and all the wiring still works if you can figure it out.

I hooked it up once, thinking I'd make it an installation in my apartment, but never did. I'll offload them to anyone who wants them haha I just can't move them. Throw me a bottle of whiskey/bourbon/scotch and it's yours! Let me know if y'all are interested!

No worries, that's how I feel too! Plus I really don't want to move these to Nashville so I'd rather they go to someone who wants them. Otherwise maybe Goodwill, hopefully not the trash.

If you're just giving them away, I have a friend who collects that sort of stuff, I'm sure he'd be into them.

I'm sure I can swing a bottle of whisky in exchange.

Friend and I split the costs of the last house and paid PMI on that mortgage. That's a lousy deal.

Don't have it on this house, fortunately. I have a 25 year. If rates drop significantly a few years out, I'd probably refinance to a 15.

Can someone recommend a better way to travel with kayaks on my bed bars? These j hooks work but it seems my kayak might be a little longer than it should be for the given space.
