A tent site on shore. I am beyond excited! Boat is 100% ready, I'm packed, tonight is just a food/beer/ice mission and then good to go first thing tomorrow. I'll be on the water by noon and hopefully reeling in a football salmon for dinner shortly thereafter.

And you can drink beer again? Congratulations!

How is the foot doing, by the way? You still a gimp?

    Low rider also.
Too much rake for me. A guy at work has a '17 and the bottom of the air dam is no more than 6 inches from the ground.

I can drink! Yes!! Foot is ok, my whole ankle is numb, it's real weird but I don't limp anymore.

Cool! Did they say whether they thought you'd regain sensation in it eventually, or is it a permanent thing?

They don't know really, said I shouldn't be concerned until a year has passed.

    Gotcha.
I was curious because my mom broke her leg last spring and had numbness in the lower part of her calf for about 8 months afterwards, but it gradually regained sensation.

I had my foot in a cast (to just below my knee) for three months after fracturing and dislocating my heel. When the cast came off I had no feeling at all on the outside half of that foot. It came back gradually over several months but as it did, it was that pins and needles feeling you get when your foot's asleep, except 24x7. Really weird sensation.

Yeah, it's weird like that. This is the outside ankle bone which is usually a pretty sensitive part of your foot, but I can't feel much. Then every once in a while it's like "oh, that feels more normal." I think it's going to come back but just like the swelling the doc said it could take a year to go back to normal.

That sounds brutal by the way... uggg

From what I've been able to find, Royal Purple performs very well, and is comparable to Pennzoil Ultra. Amsoil seems to usually come out on top. The Walmart brand shouldn't even be labeled as oil.

Yeah, my accident was five years ago this July and my ankle/foot hasn't been the same since. It's permanently swollen, aches like a mf'r after being on it all day, there are mornings (usually after those days that I've been on it) that I can barely walk because it hurts so bad and is stiff and even more swollen.

    Some of my x-rays:

How did you manage to break your Calcaneus, your Lateral Malleolus, and land on a giant nail?

The "giant nail" is a surgical pin to stabilize the subtalar joint during healing. Long story short, bad landing while skydiving.

Aha. I didn't see a cast shadow in the X-rays so I thought that maybe you'd had a trauma conga line going on. Surgical pin is much better.

Because the stuff you do once you're outside is a freaking blast. There are times when I miss it. I haven't jumped since my accident, but I don't think I'd go back to doing it again.
