The man who invented the clock and then the one who did email, ruined humanity. If I could go back in time I'd kill every single person who ever tries to create a clock. Would slow things waaaaaay down and let us have some more time to enjoy our families and plan out our lives.

    Morning all. Finally Friday :woot:

Busy, though. Guy I work with who shares the bulk of the inbound calls with me broke up with his GF and has called out the last two days.

waiting for headstrong to ship my order, sent it to my buddies shop in Merrimack, NH, Icon Motors. pretty much as soon as it gets here I will install and get alignment. 2-3 business days to process order and 5-7 for shipping across the country... and I think headstrong is closed Fridays(stupid) so my ETA is around the 15th. hopefully.

I was thinking of getting the CMC done earlier and mounting tires and trimming before the lift, already pounded my pinch weld and resealed. 33's def fill the wheel well w/o a lift lol

Awesome! Ours was built by my great grandfather himself and finished in 1973 if I remember right. Unfortunately my dad and his brother had a falling out and dad didn't want to go up there anymore. So 2 years ago I decided I would go up there with my girlfriend at the time and have been making sure to go at least once a year since then!

    Whatcha saying over there? o_O

Might just be the way I am or my mentality, but I can't understand calling out over a break up. We had a kid at my last shop bot come in for a week and a half or so. When I encounter a break up I just work more, keep myself busy and cope on my own time. Plus it stashes some cash from working more. But that's just me :notsure:

I was thinking the same. Don't really understand why someone would call out because of that? I guess maybe if you are married for awhile and get divorced, but even then I don't know.

Right. I mean I could understand if yoy find out your wife is cheating on you and if kids are involved or something. But a girlfriend I wouldn't call out over. Haven't even called out at this shop lol, in almost 2 years

I know Branch. Never actually fished it, but I've driven by it a LOT on my way out to visit the Grandparents in Milbridge.
They've been together a long time, nearly 10 years. He's probably drinking in the evenings and is too hung over in the mornings to make it in. Been a problem in the past, when they've been fighting. He's typically a good worker, but when he's depressed he has a tendency to try and find the answer at the bottom of a bottle.

Our family is the same way, my dad is one of 7 and now there are only two of them (him included) left owning the place. People didn't want to pitch in to keep it up, which caused a lot of fights and a handful sold out their shares over the years. Some had too many kids and there is even one who is banned from the property due to their antics. Two of my aunts and uncles have bought places on the lake near by so their families still get to visit the lake, but it isn't the same experience.

You made the right call just going up, don't let a little bad blood ruin such a great place! Now that you are back on scene you will be able to continue going your whole life too, where-as you might have missed out on that if you waited too long.

I had an issue with that back in November after my break up. Still made it to work even if I felt like shit. But I wasnt in a relationship that long either.

Yessir! I am usually the first one up for the season and open up camp. It actually happened due to facebook honestly. Found my aunt on facebook and added her, then went to CT to visit them since I hadnt seen them since 2008 or so. Try to go down and see them once or twice a year, plus my cousin is playing college soccer two towns over from me so I also try to make some of his games

@PeterT I'm assuming you can give a good reference for that shop? That's just down the street from me, and it would be awesome to know there's someone in the area who can take care of these trucks well.

Our family camp in Chesterville ended up in the hands of an Aunt in Washington state when my Gram died (oldest child). They rarely even come out to visit this part of the country, and never stayed at the camp. I ended up doing most of the maintenance on it for the better part of a decade so that other members of the family could still use and enjoy it. A couple of years ago the Aunt announced that she was going to be selling the property because they were tired of paying the taxes on it but not enjoying the property (a fair point), and I was hoping for a chance to buy it since I'd spent a lot of time and $ over the years on maintaining the place, and have a lot of good memories of spending time out there. But, instead of dealing with family directly and agreeing on a price that way, they had a realtor assess the property, then said that they'd be willing to sell it to family for 10% OVER the assessed value. Some family discount that was  I couldn't afford what they were asking, so it went on the open market and ended up getting marked down gradually and selling to some guy from Connecticut for only a few thousand more than what I'd originally offered them. So there's some bad blood there now.

I'd be so screwed at finding a replacement if the GF and I broke up, lol. I haven't tried to pick up girls in 14 years; my game would be from the stone age

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJiGPT0TX7Q

It sucked. It was built in the 40's, so it's LITERALLY feet from the water, and no neighbors. Small pond, but too many rocks for a motor anyway (nice and quiet), and full of bass & perch. I sent a "Reply All" to their original 'offer' email calling them on selling it for barely more than I'd offered them for it, basically shafting family for a few thousand dollars after I'd spent probably more than that just maintaining it for them over the last decade. Never got a response and haven't talked to them since. Still get along great with their kids, but not them.

I've honestly never had a strong game haha. If you like what you see and find out about me then cool, if not I'm in the same spot. I haven't really tried to find anyone to date since then though
