I'd be in the same boat. I would have very few avenues of meeting new people; I don't work with the public, don't go to bars/clubs, and would rather spend my free time either working around the house or camping/fishing (which would be solo activities, if I were single)

True, but I haven't been really trying, not sure if I'm ready for one honestly.

Same, I work 50+ hours a week and the friends I do have, all of their friends that are women are married or in long term relationships. I don't really see strangers other than the gas station or whoever else might be on the trails/fishing spot

I've just always been more concerned about work, or my house, or whatever else. I've realized I'm already 26 and it probably gets tougher as we get older. I don't really care now, but I worry that I will later and maybe I should now. But I'm really set in my ways at this point.

Yup! Just substitute camping/fishing to hiking/kayaking in my case.

A female friend of mine has said that dating in your 30's is like going to the dump and picking out the piece of trash that you hate the least.

I wear a size XXL, in case you needed a size to order :D

Yea I'm getting to the point of I have stuff I want to do with the trucks, and want to buy land/a house. Not sure i want to stay up here the way the laws are getting more restrictive around here on certain things. It seems to be a shit show in the dating scene and mostly just people looking to hookup.

Thanks! They're nice people. My uncle is a lineman and my aunt a retired lieutenant colonel in the CT state police. I've lost way to many family members that I never really saw so I try to make it a point to go to family gatherings

If you're considering the Carolinas, the Shen Valley in VA is pretty gorgeous. Too hot during the summer for my liking, but mild winters and far enough away from DC that you wouldn't have the suburbanites from the swamp living around you.

Hmm I'll have to look into that. I was looking at the Greenville area of SC or the Asheville area of NC, both have milder winters than up here but certain parts still get snow

I'm pretty tied here at this point. Doubt I'd leave any time in the foreseeable future.

All I can say is to do what you want when you're young and single. If you want to move to another state than do it. You can always come back if it doesn't work out for you. I always wanted to live in either California or Colorado for at least a year to try them out but never did and I regret it.
