Oh yea man, at least you get pretty good benefits though!

That's what I have heard. Cause if I don't know, the next time will be after the kids (if I have any) are moved out. Part of the reason I'm traveling in my truck more now is to see some areas and stay other places for a few days/a week and see what the areas are like.

Yea I have a friend that grew up in the Asheville area but was up in the mountains and he said they would get decent amounts of snow at a time

We were at the Massanutten resort, and it looked like they had decent snowfalls during the winter.

Yeah, down around McGaheysville, I think. (but we came in on 81 through Harrisonburg)

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
One of my closest friends brother did it and I was always quite envious. He spent about 5 - 6 years on the road. He lived in Cali, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Florida. Each place he stayed about a year. After it was said and done he moved back to NH (where he was originally from) but at least he knew that's where he wanted to be and that's the part I am envious about. I love it here in NE because we have everything here but I always wanted to explore

Yea i mean that's part of whats holding me back from moving is I am setup up here. I know someone or know someone who knows someone for just about anything. The only family I have outside of MA is in CT and FL. I have friends in SC and NH and making friends isn't too hard for me

A street rod guy I know retired and moved to Va. last year to be near his brother.
    He's East of Lynchburg.
Nice size ranch, 5 car garage and around 4-5 acres. His property taxes are...$750 a year.
He's bugging me to go visit, but I may see him at the GoodGuys street rod gig in Rhinebeck .
If I see him I can pick his brain a little better.

I go on Zillow a lot and pick areas that I like.
It's amazing how much more bang for the buck one gets compared to here.

Isn't VA notorious for being incredibly strict when it comes to speeding?

I didn't see anybody doing the speed limit the entire time I was there. We were in a bright red Mustang (with Yankee tags!) and sped pretty much everywhere and nobody bothered us. The only time I actually saw police officers out and about was in the morning, during the school commute. :notsure:

My friend drove to SC last Summer and he got pinched in Va. for 5mph over the limit.
He said it was crazy seeing Va. plated cars zipping along and the only ones pulled over were out of state cars. this was on 95.

Might be a regional thing, idk. I just remember reading or hearing about it.

Yeah, the whole time we were down there I was expecting to meet Sheriff J.W. Pepper, because the GF speeds constantly, and when I'm driving her car I tend to do a lot of speeding too. But nothing for the entire trip. Maybe we just got lucky, but it didn't seem like they were lurking for folk from the North.

True, I've seen it. I blew by a VA state trooper while i was in traffic going abiut 80 in a 70 and about shit myself. Thankfully he was in a median pull off and my front plate is offset to the right side of the truck
