Motorcraft garbage I think. The FX4 has Rancho. I hear those are ok stock but not even like real Rancho shocks. I’m looking at Fox 2.0 shocks as the replacement. I think cheaper shocks will just be overpowered, just like the stock shocks.

Not yet actually. I can’t remember if they only have the fronts or rears, but not fully supported yet. The guys who took the 2016 5100s and put them on the new ones say they ride really stiff, which I really don’t want. The Fox 2.0 and Rancho 9000 seem to be good, well reviewed options.

Yeah, if i’m going to do it, going to do it once.
I can find them at other shops, just trying to support the smaller shops first. Usually DSM is great, just disappointed a bit on how they handled this one. Maybe not intentional, I’m sure, just bummed.

I've been in north county for a year and know almost no one here. I kind of like it for the same reason--I never run into anyone in any store.

If I go to a store in Pittsfield, it's almost guaranteed I'll run into someone I know.

The only speeding ticket I ever got, I went on a vendetta about. I've told the story here before. I won and the Eagle did a story about it.

I learned a lot about Massachusetts speed zoning in the process. In theory it all makes sense. Nothing can be done arbitrarily--if there's a sign, there has to be a special speed regulation and study to support it or it's illegal. If there's no sign, it's prima facie.

Problem is, many towns ignore the rules and slap up signs and people don't know they're illegal and there's no one to call them out on it. Other problem is if a speed study is very old then technically it still stands, even if the road's been dramatically reconstructed. I tried pretty hard to get 8A changed. MassDOT basically told me that I'm right, it shouldn't be what it is, but they don't want to open a can of worms by forcing the town's hand in it since they don't have the resources to do that all the time. If it were a state road, they would have done a new study because the town has no say.

So, if you ever get stopped there let me know--I'll give you all the info you need to win.

Wow, that is good to know. I think almost all the places around here I would get stopped, haven't had a speed study done, except for rt 2 and rt116. I will definitely reach out though, I have tried to slow down and the taco is so slow it really helps, but sometimes I still catch myself going more than a few over.

I went to the Memorial Day parade in my town.
It's a pretty large parade with a shitload of people attending.
I didn't see anybody I knew...nobody. and I've lived here for all my 57 years. Fucking nuts.

A large section of my own road is posted at 20, but it's actually a 35. I compared it to the speed regulation and one sign is facing the wrong direction and two are in the wrong spot. It's like they didn't actually read it and just threw them wherever. The town is totally unresponsive when I've tried to contact them about it. I need to go visit them in person, but working 45 minutes away makes that tough. By the time I'm back here, it's too late. And I have no idea when they are there.

I haven't put too much effort in because I don't see them trying to enforce it. The day I see a cop sitting on the road is the day I march down there.

Makes sense. I'd rather use small companies as well.

No I haven't used either site honestly, they were pretty high on the google search. If anything they would be good for price reference or seeing if someone will match

Na he had to drive up to Granby/New Hartford areas to help Asplundh after the tornados. He lives in Bethlehem, CT. He has a reg cab 4cyl, 5spd 1st gen taco and a manual Honda Fit

I’ve learned that also. Being a ‘bachelor’ just means to have to get all the shit done that your wife and kids have been preventing you from doing when they’re home!

Preach Mike! That's what I do. Cut the grass, weedwack, clean up my stuff, etc.

Good morning everyone. Happy Saturday. Nice and sunny out here. Supposed to get Charter Spectrum cable internet installed this morning, hopefully. This Frontier DSL is crap and I've had enough of it. Hoping the install goes well... Not so sure about it though. I don't think I have the cable running from the pole to the house, so not sure if the tech will be able to do that.

I can’t find a lot in the way of reviews for that site... but I’m going to call Autoanything and see if they’ll price match the Ranchos. Autoanything had the Ranchos for 460 compared to 390 at that website. Should be neat to have an adjustable shock and they have a pretty nice warranty on them.

The best is when she comes back with the kids and says something like ‘how was your day off?’ Like I’ve been sitting on my ass drinking beer doing nothing all day... and this is after she walked across the fresh mowed grass and by the trimmed hedges on her way into the house...
