Painting season is here!

 

Full size truck benefits! Couldn't quite close the tailgate on the Tacoma, and it just barely squeezed between the wheel wells. Tons of room in this one!

 

Yep. Gonna have to find a free weekend. All of the upcoming ones there is something always going on. Argh.

 

Busy day doing absolutely nothing I had planned on doing, and that's okay.

First off, major props to @617mike9c1 for hooking me up with the running boards. Better than described and a great guy to boot. Of course that meant I had money in the play fund. I got the Lexan roof for the Vette which is awesome since mine's the bodycolored panel that leaks like a sieve in the rain. This has nearly new weatherstripping to boot. But in Murphy's best fashion as I was pulling the Vette out of the garage to put the new car seat in the Jeep for the wife I noticed a puddle of oil. When the harmonic balancer was done, the front main seal was replaced. I wonder if it's seeping from there or something. I think I'm going to keep an eye on the oil level and close my eyes and plug my ears for a bit.

 

You can say the same about just about every professional sport. They all have their despicable moments or people that drag the league down. There will always be corruption with anything that has profit potentials like international soccer. It’s still a beautiful game and I watch it because skills some of the top players possess is mesmerizing. I love watching these guys at their best, the behind the scenes corruption and BS is not my concern, it will sort itself out eventually.

 

By the time he got to the Mets, the years of strip clubs and rolling his truck caught up haha..plus a NL team for someone his size is just a bad idea.

Redneck tonneau complete and installed. It’s weather stripped so it should keep the bed fairly dry...

I have about $100 into this between 2 sheets of plywood, the piano hinge, paint and weather strip.

Happy Father’s Day everyone!!

 

I think this came out really well and is more useful than others since it lets you have your tool box there too. My super expensive fancy one isn't even 100% waterproof without going around and siliconing parts of it, so I wouldn't feel too bad if you don't have a 100% dry bed after a storm. Would be interested to see another shot closer from the rear whenever you have the time to snap one.

Sure, any particular shot or detail you’re looking to see? There are pieces that tuck under a lip on the toolbox to keep the front down and eye hooks underneath that I use to strap down the rear pieces. The back 16” is hinged so I can flip it up for quick access if I need it. In hind sight, I might turn it around so the short piece is in the front and the larger portion in the rear is what hinges up. Might make access a little easier.

 

I guess I'd like to see closer to the tool box and your hinge. Just curious as to how the little things turned out! Looks like something that might be worth doing next truck I get instead of paying a bunch for one.
