Yeah, your truck was the basis for checking out SOS. Plus the fact that he's on the east coast.
Yeah, the E load is definitely over kill for what I'd use them for. The tough part is finding different load options in that tire size. I could probably be fine in a C or D range.
Yeah, I've been seeing a lot that don't have an issue to just minor trimming.

Is there any difference to running 16 vs 17" rims? Trying to decide if I should just buy tires for the stock rims or to get some 17s before upping the tires? The only thing I've really seen so far is just the amount of options available for that rim size

17s are the new 16 which is now the new 15. Only difference is you get more sidewall with a 16" rim. But there are more options with a 17 now as the trend for OE manufacturer and aftermarket is towards larger wheels/ lower profile tires.

Good luck with the fish! Love that place. And remember:

AZISCOHOS LAKE (INCLUDING SUNDAY POND) AND TRIBUTARIES, Lincoln Plt, Lynchtown Twp, Parkertown Twp (North Region). Aziscohos Lake is the impounded portion of the Magalloway River south of a straight line between the 2 red markers on each shore by the Brown Company Landing, so-called, and the area of water south of a straight line between the 2 red markers just north of Sunday Pond on the Little Magalloway River.

General fishing laws apply, except: CI. S-4, S-17 on the lake and all tributaries upstream to the red markers. No size or bag limit on landlocked salmon less than 16 inches. Daily bag limit on salmon over 16 inches: 1 fish. All west shore tributaries from Aziscohos dam to (but not including) the Big Magalloway River: S-1.

Yep, keeping that in mind. I like coldwater fish with a little cornmeal in bacon grease for a camping breakfast, so I'm hoping to have some luck.

If yes to both, drag an orange or copper flatfish real slow, about 5 colors out. 50 feet of 6lb flouro leader. You should hammer them. Try anything pink or red too. They should be starved there and easy to land.

Yes to the boat, no to the lead core. I'm bringing the kayaks along too, though, for some early morning fishing without waking anybody (specifically, the GF), and I've had luck up there before with a black & orange flatfish with a lead ball attached just ahead of it for weight. I rig that up and then do a slow paddle until somebody says "Nom!"

I was looking at sliders a couple months ago and landed on SOS for similar reasons but never ended up going through with the order. If you get them during this sale let me know because I'm leaning towards buying them soon-ish and we could possibly save on shipping if they are shipped together since we aren't all that far from each other if I remember correctly.

Hey fellow New Englanders, just wanted to introduce myself. Just bought a 2004 Prerunner with a new frame and zero rust, as well as new brakes and radiator as a result of the new frame being replaced. It's been a long time waiting, but it worked out for the better. When I first wanted one eight years ago, in my area they were either rust buckets or way out of my price range. The D21 I bought instead finally rusted to the point that it was no longer safe to drive, and was able to finally have the opportunity of acquiring a Tacoma without breaking the bank. Granted she has 160k on er, but I think it's safe to say she's capable of another 160k. The two previous owners are military, and neighbors, and took care of er. Oh, and it came with a matching topper that I plan on putting back on for the winter.

Near future plans are to replace the rear bumper, already ordered, which is powder coated black. It was rusted due to some minor damage. Also, some all terrain tires in the fall for this winter. Next year I plan on doing the 4x4 conversion with the help of my neighbor. I know I should have just bought one that already had it, but all those were either too much, and not willing to budge on price, or just didn't feel right. Noticed a lot of shady dealers on craigslist around here trying to pass as private owners.

I appreciate this great resource and community, and will absorb as much of it as humanly possible.

    Regards,
    Jim
