Did you follow this year's death race? They went through some crazy shit.

In prep for my first spartan in 2 weeks I've been looking into all the different events they do and the hurricane heats seem awesome.

Morning all! Definitely got some rain yesterday; I had left a bowl on the front porch when I went to work and when I got home it was completely full, so we got at least 6" of rain. The duck pond was so full when I pulled into the driveway that the 3" overflow drain was completely underwater

 

I haven't, I'll have to look it up. I've heard the David Goggins one on Rogan and be talks about similar stuff.

I'll have to check that one out.

I have and the ridiculousness only makes me want to do it more.

I've done the 8 hr and it's really fun. Going to do the H3x one which is an 8 hour into a 12 into a 24....because why not

 

Finally no fucking rain this morning!

 

I'm excited just to do a super haha. Only thing I'm semi-worried about right now is my upper body strength. I've been running awhile and the mental stuff doesn't get to me. But I've only been taking the strength training serious for the last 4 months, so I'm expecting to fail a few obstacles haha.

Plan as of right now is to sign up and complete a trifecta in 2019.

 

Our pond was like a foot low and almost nothing was refilling it and in Hancock one stream we just built a bridge over went dry. I am very happy with the recent rain, hop full bye rest of the summer is nice and steady and not to the extremes of this last month

 

No Lasik?

 

Naw... Haven't worked up the balls for that yet.

 

Yeah, I'm good with contacts. Since, you know, lasers in eyes scare the shit out of me.

I care just a bit about my eyesight, to take a chance with lasers...

 

I probably will get Lasik, once I'm sure my eyes have stabilized. The eye doc says that my scrip should stay the same for a couple of years before getting Lasik, and this is the second year in a row with no change.

 

I mean try the obstacles, worst case you do burpees.

 

Yup, that is the plan . I'm looking forward to it

 

I had Lasik surgery this April after 20 + years of contacts. Now I wish I had done it sooner. Its no where as bad as you think. I’m lovin it. No more contacts, no more glasses. 20/20. You should really look into it.

 

The tech has come quite a long way. I just had my annual eye ball checkup and was talking about it with the doc. There's a new option too that a few of my friends have done. It's basically a series of hard contacts you wear at night but they reshape your cornea. During the day you don't need to wear contacts / glasses.

 

Well... guess I'll be chatting with the doc a bit this afternoon.
