Sounds like the odo was replaced or disconnected for a while. You have to get the permit first to get the license. Don't need to take the class but I would recommend it. It's fun and teaches you good stuff that could save your life.

Yea the actual ODOM READING on the title is 9,999,999 but my actual ODO is 5001. Either replaced or more what I'm leaning towards being disconnected due to the clean condition. I figured with the Permit part I just have to see if RI allows a Class M permit from Ma to be ridden here?? I'll have to call and ask, If not i cant get caught LOL hard on an Enduro. I agree with the class but it's $$$ I just dont feel I need it, but then again I'm never planning to own a big boy bike .

Sometimes, if the bike is old enough, the DMW doesn't bother recording the ODO reading. I believe that was the case when I used to have a 1990 motorcycle, I believe my title in NY, VA and MA all said something similiar even though my ODO was still hooked up and in good working order. I'm not a DMV expert but I faintly remember the RMV people explaining that to me years ago.

Not if you know how to actually ride them...

I would love to have a supermoto but for anything outside of the city, the 400 is too small. The 250, I wouldn't waste my time with unless it will actually be used on a track. I had an older 350 dirt bike on the road and they're just too light and don't have enough ass to be on any road with a speed limit over 45. Now the Ducati hypermoto on the other hand... that thing would be a lot of fun just about anywhere.

Still, my ideal bike is the BMW GS series. I'm actually on the fence about selling my bike outright or trading it for a nice dual sport. We'll see.
