That's true, the soft paint on these newer toyotas is a sure sign of them losing their touch. I hadn't seen the soft paint thread yet, I'll have to get on that, I think I saw a pinstripe on my bed yesterday.

Hahaha I'm loaded with pinstripes. But it's ok. To no fault of the truck. I'm surprised the mirrors are still attached sometimes the brush is that thick.

I never was able to figure out how to use the apps in my entune haha. I couldn't give a shit about them though.
I just wish the nav in the head unit was better. But I no longer worry about that with my Hondo Garage vent mount and just use google maps/waze.

That's how I go about it too. I think I tried to use the app the first day or two I bought it and it didn't work and I haven't even looked at them since. As long as I can connect via bluetooth I am all set.

But it is your trucks fault. If it wasn't so capable you wouldn't be able to get into these thick brush areas. Yota should have known you would use your truck like this and therefore need to protect the paint job better. I think you should call yota corp and demand a fresh paint job.

    @Bridge4

Honestly, I couldn't really care less, other than the fact as mentioned.

I'm happy with the truck overall. That's why I bought it.

I wish we could have an android OS on these, then it could be setup, how we want.

Either way, I listen to SXM, or my pandora on the phone. My van. Jeep, and charger are all used the same way.

Not impressed with the entune either way. Will probably swap it out after warranty.

FWIW, the system in the charger, the nav died right out of warranty.... sucked anyway.

But, everything else continued to work, so, been running it w/o nav for 3 years.

Mfrs have a way to go making these suites more reliable, and useful.

I think they need to realize they can't make their own suite better than Carplay and Android Auto and they need to just put in head units that have those capabilities. But, getting them to realize that and implementing it into production is a hard thing.

Not that I drive the truck often to make it a huge deal, but I only listen to Pandora in the car and I do like being able to use the steering wheel buttons instead of having to open the phone

We don't use the Pandora truck app in my truck. But we use her Pandora cell AP in my truck and I can control it through the wheel. Not sure if that's the truck app running in the background or not. I don't believe it is because when I tried selecting it, it wouldn't launch. So at least with our trucks you can still control it from the wheel I think. We will find out though

I don't use Pandora at all, but I use Spotify and I am able to use the steering wheel controls to skip songs and stuff since my phone is connected via bluetooth.

100% agree, all of them suck! I figured it would suck from the start and honestly never gave etune a real chance. I just bypass it with bluetooth.

Yup, they should have apple or android or someone make them for them, and by someone I don't mean garmin.

I can do all that with bluetooth. It is convenient for sure though and would be an issue if I couldn't.

I know I've said multiple times I don't care about car audio beyond what's factory, but the stock HU gave up the ghost yesterday. My stock in head unit 6 CD changer stopped working/ CD player not working. So I got on crutchfield and did a thing. And now my wallet is much lighter:anonymous:
