How complex are you looking to get here? I'm a machinist by trade

 

Will a 2015 alternator be a direct bolt for an 06? Need to get a new one and found a good deal on one off a 15. Don’t care if it’s used, just wanna be rid of my whine for hunting season. If it breaks, I’ll throw my old one back on

Need some .375" round stock tapped on the ends for machine screws . And some 1x.5x.375 (loosely) brass blocks to have a .375 radius put into them and tapped for another machine screw.


My work sucks with tooling. Yesterday I used speed tape and chop sticks to position a tube. It's a fuel line for a major jet engine. Came out mint. There are just things that would make it way easier for me

 

I'd assume so, it would have to be off the same motor, and I doubt it really matters if you have the tow package or not. Trucks with the tow package came with a slightly higher output alternator. So keep that in mind. I'd just double check on rock auto real quick if I was you

 

I don’t think mine has the tow package, but the one I’m looking at is a tow package, I wanted to upgrade to that anyways so I can haul some stuff and not worry. I was thinking it’d be the same too, just thought I’d ask before I bite the bullet and order it.

 

That does not sound complex lol. Something I could make on lunch break. Brass we usually don't have in shop. Aluminum, steels, and stainlesses we have in shop usually though.

I made these earlier this year. FJ tie rod end extensions. Male and female threaded ends with a flat to accept 21mm and 15/16?

 

Like i said I personally would check the high output part number for a brand on rockauto for a 2006 and find the same thing for a 2015 just to double check

 

Yeah, I’ll do that. Numbers match up for them both, so I guess I’ll order it tomorrow.

Haha. Yeah if only. Unfortunately as soon as that tooling shows up and 3+ welders want one, it becomes "intellectual property" of the corporate. They could navigate their way around the Patten for a ball if they wanted to, they have so much power

Auto mechanic was almost what I went with but 2 dads I knew that were mechanics said to avoid it My 3 options were Miltary (helicopter pilot), Mechanic, Engineer; first 2 got nudged against so engineer it was
