Yeah, I really like the layouts. I think the Fords have the nicest interiors but now after living with mine for a while I really like my GMC. My dealer is on the hunt for a 2500 with the Vortec in a demo or possibly a very low mileage trade for me, but he says that is a very rare beast.

Special Ordered to my specs, so keeping it stock.
Any of you happen to see the MPG announcement on GM's 2.7? It's rated 2-3 MPG less than Ford's 2.7. This is in a truck that makes less power, tows significantly less, and even has cylinder deactivation.

I try not to be too biased against GM, but with stuff like that it's hard to take them seriously.

Yeah, it's not enough motor for the truck, I think. Unless you're driving a short bed, single cab 2wd you're always going to be in the boost.

Edit- They run into the same problem with the Malibu; it's got a 1.5 turbo and a 2.0 turbo option. The 2.0 makes better power, is faster to 60 and passes better as a result, but gets the same or better MPG in real-world driving, from what I've read.

You sound like me when I see a guy driving a Subaru Forester :anonymous:
You gotta be real careful on college campuses, most of them are very strict and have absolutely no tolerance for ogling the students (even though they're all legally adults at that point). Most of the projects I work on now have barricades to physically block the construction crews from the rest of the world.
The Colorado diesel actually does seem to have a good reputation for towing. I watched the TFL reviews and it did really well. Not a race car with a trailer in tow, but seemed to do pretty well given it's size.

Yep. I basically called one my home for 3 years. But it's really no different than anything else. All jokong aside, at the end of the day it's about being professional and making money .

It's that 'being professional' part that seems to escape a lot of people... Generally, most people are decent enough at quietly admiring and not making it overly well known that they're watching an attractive passer-by. The rest of them, well sometimes they just need a day off to be alone with their thoughts.

By and large, probably not but we try to keep things in check so our job sites don't get a reputation of making people uncomfortable. What's pretty neat is, there are a lot more women in the trades now so, when you walk by a job site it's not the highly concentrated masses of testosterone they used to be.

Morning all, did a cannonball run to Michigan to see the in-laws this week. Got back this morning around 5:30 was chaos driving back in the rain, thank god for rain-x though.
Side note got my fasterns from Eddy at SOS today for my sliders. Only been lost in my post office since August 29th. So hopefully be able to wrap that project up before snow flies

Double check your bolt numbers I had extra of the 1/2's but not enough of the 3/8s. Found that out before starting the driver side, put in the 1/2's so it was up and I could drive home, bought more bolts, had to basically loosen everything and redo since they settled to low to get the 3/8s through the holes.

Anyone got input on accessories when trading your vehicle in? When they appraised it I had the cap, clazzios, scs wheels etc but there was no discussion or mention of having to keep these on the truck when trading it. Im taking the cap and clazzios but not sure about the wheels. I’d like to swap them with a stock set or something but not sure.

If you've still got the factory equipment, pull the aftermarket and sell it. The dealer's appraisal won't be significantly higher with the accessories than without them, typically.

I think you meant to qoute me. But here’s the thing about it. I already have their appraisal number and the purchase agreement with the wheels and cap and stuff. So what I’m wondering is if I show up on Sunday with the check for the new truck if they’ll try to lower my appraisal number due to me taking off the cap and wheels and stuff

    Yep, did.

Just ask them; typically they don't add much value in for on the 'trade in' side, though. Once it comes time to sell, on the other hand...

It really depends on the dealer and the truck. If it's a high mileage truck they'll be taking in trade, they're going to send it to auction and aftermarket items won't add much value. If it's new and the aftermarket stuff gives it a certain look to where they think they can ask more money for it, they might hassle you for taking it all off. When I traded my Tacoma and the F150, the only thing both dealers seemed concerned with was keeping the cap on the truck. Otherwise, they told me as long as there weren't going to be any visible mounting holes or damage from me removing aftermarket stuff, they didn't care. I took my seat covers, all weather floor mats, sliders, bed mat, auxiliary lights and a few other odds and ends with me, basically anything I thought I could resell relatively quickly.
