Anyone know of a good way to get rid of scratches. There's so many ways on here and I can't pick one. Thes ones that are deep, I'll use touch of paint but the ones that I can see but I can't feel, I need to get rid off. I had a place that was gonna do it but they backed off so I'm out of luck. Any ideas that's not gonna break the bank? Lol

As long as they shut off when you hit lock on your remote. That would be cool.

Compound and a lot of time, then polishing compound. Then give it a nice coat of wax

The dealership will detail it when you trade it in before the sell it. I doubt you will get much more for it if you detail it. Its probably a good idea to get rid of some of the scratches but it isnt worth spending to much money or time on. Just my opinion, i probably wouldnt do anything haha.

Touch up paint on long scratches will just make it a lot worst... as for the others you can't feel I believe buffing would be your answer. John would know cause he has one and/or guessing he has a lot of scatches from wheeling BUT he may just not give a f&$#

Dr. Colorchip. If they're too deep, no amount of rubbing compound will completely eliminate them. You'll need to add paint to it to fill the gouges.

I haven't figured out how I want to do it yet. I'm thinking a timer switch and wiring them hot. The issue I have is if the truck is locked up, I don't want to have to unlock it and turn on the parking lights just to turn on the lights inside the shell. I want to just open the shell and let there be light! My two options now are either a timer switch or a spring loaded button switch that triggers the light when the glass is opened. I don't like that option as much because it requires modifications to the shell that I'm not really keen on doing. Either way, I want to put an indicator light on the dash in one of the blanks. That way it will light up when the shell light is on, at least letting me know that it's on.

X2 sometimes a touchup job will look worse than the scratch. At least mine does lol. Its really hard to wetsand a touchup without scratching the clearcoat. If you going to use touch up paint miguel dont go crazy, start in a inconspicuous spot and see how that comes out first.

Yeah I fixed a few dings on my grillecraft awhile back and it was mind numbing. I had the interior touch up like little bottle with a brush on one side and a pen on the other.

Then had a slice in my paint in between my rear window and drivers side back seat window and the touch up paint like bulges out and looks like shit. Can't see it from 3-4 feet away but still. That was a half inch long I can only imagine a foot-2 foot long scratch

Yeah thats what I figured lol. I really dont wanna spend to much time on it if I'm just wanna get rid of it haha
Yeah you have a good point. I mean why do all this work you know. I just wanna make it somewhat clean. I wanna get the most money I can.A couple of the scratches are not too deep but long lol so they can deff see it. The only place my truck is dented is on the tail gate. Its just little penny sized ones going straight down in the middle so I wanna fix that If i can.

I dont feel like getting a buffer and doing all this shit lol. The only touch of paint i will be using is on the tail gate and one spot on the back fender where is down to the metal.
Yes thank you. Im only gonna use alitte. Just so it blends in and it looks somewhat ok lol.

    Thanks guy

My dad has a friend that works at a dealership and he said to bring it to him and i'll make me come out of this dealership with a big smile on your face :D.So I hope that means more $$ lol

Ya your wasting time and money I agree. Called depreciation. Try bringing it back to the dealer you bought it from as well.... Goto a few I'm guessing there are some dealers that are looking for used Taco's cause they have none. The world if filled with supply & demand and thats why I am an economist.

Theres no reason for you to vacuum your seats and fix scratches. When I sold my sequioa the guy didn't even look at the truck.
