Town fair tire said that they base the front alignment on the rear on thrust angle.
That sound like bull shit to you , or anyone for that matter?
I talked to dealership service and he told me there is nothing. Any suggestions?

If they hooked heads up to all 4 wheels, then it's based in truth. You CAN do a 4 wheel alignment on a truck; you just use the rears as a baseline and adjust the fronts to match.

If they only hooked up the heads to the front, though, they're hosing you.

Town Fair is famous for the 'toe & go' alignment; it's why they can charge so little for them. Now, 90% of the time the toe is all that your vehicle needs, so it's not generally a big deal. But if you've altered the suspension at all it's typically not enough.

Just did front struts and that was my main concern.
Tech showed me front toe ( left) was minimal and I’m relieved

Yeah, it's an interesting story for sure (interesting to me is all). I was told when I moved in 3 years ago that no lawn care or snow plowing was included. No problem, I have a huge commercial Ariens snowblower that I had when I owned a house. So the first year I'm there, winter comes and the first snow of the year I am out there snowblowing away. It's a big driveway but I don't care, I love the snow and I have no life anyway so I do half the driveway which is probably an hour and a half and all of a sudden the landlord bombs up the driveway with his huge plow truck and clears the rest of the driveway. Ok, so I'm not going to complain or anything, but I'm kinda like "what is the deal?" All that winter it was plowed. The next year pretty much the same deal, I'm wrestling with my snowblower and the guy shows up. This time I ask him what is up and he says, "well, I'm not really plowing, I'm just opening up the driveways" (they have a lot of rental properties). His "opening it up" was as nice as how I would do it myself. I signed a new lease in Sept. The rent is still crazy cheap, the place is a shithole for the most part, again I'm told "no plowing or yard care." Well I guess they mean it this year because no one showed up to "just open it up" after it snowed last week. I thought it would melt so I never did the snowblower.

I had someone come and quote me and plow out the mess from the past 2 storms which never melted like I had hoped and it's $60 a storm for up to 12" and any more is $90. So I paid him to clear the driveway that once and yesterday I told them to order the plow. I don't want to snowblow anymore and I'm not paying $90 for a storm over 12". That can happen 3 times a week where I live.

Anyway, like I said it's an interesting story, but really only for me. Sorry.

You're going to buy the plow, and be out there hooking it up during the next storm and he'll come bombing up your driveway with the plow down.

Happy Turkey Day everyone, shutting down the office now and headed to Maine. Noel, are you going to the inlaws? I'll be across the Sheepscot!

Nah, they've got it shut down for the season. It's a summer place only, really. It has a woodstove, but there's zero insulation in the place so you'd have to stand in front of the stove and shovel wood in this time of year. They're coming over to my place for thanksgiving dinner instead.

If you've been paying any attention to this thread in the last few weeks you should be able to insulate and create a heater for your house with whatever is around the camp, I'm sure you will have it ready by Christmas :sawzall::welder:

I could have the entire place insulated and ready for year-round use in about a day, guaranteed. But they like the 'charm' of a vintage uninsulated cottage, so that's what they're keeping it as. :notsure:

Our place in Ellsworth is like that too, I don't think my Dad and his siblings would let anyone change it even if they would do it free.

Are you allowed to use those in MA? That looks military-grade to me and is probably illegal.

It’s not black, so it’s the non-tactical version. I’m cool
