Well, after weeks of looking everywhere I finally found another Taco to replace my '15 that insurance totaled. I am now a 3rd Gen owner.

I found it on Auto trader.

There were several very nicely built, beautiful 2015's out there but the owners selling wanted to be paid list and turning the wrench for all their addons.

The asking price was better than any other dealer and closer to what I wanted/expected to pay, and the dealer that had it got the thumbs up from a member here.

So I am now the proud owner of a 2017 DCSB Sport.

Once I get the check from my insurance and work out the financing, I'll have it in my driveway and will post Pics and more details.

    I Glad that's done!:woot:

Just drove into Cambridge to bring my daughter to a birthday party. Damn sleet kept freezing to the wipers.otherwise pretty uneventful. Surprised at how decent the firestone mt2s are in this junk.

Decent amount of accidents on the way, lots of people slipping and sliding. Held steady @50 in the middle Lane of the Pike and had no issues. So many cars with damage from plows/ other cars hitting them around Cambridge.

I wont knock on the frontier being dated.
My last truck before the Taco was a frontier. And almost got another one in place of the Taco.
It also amuses the hell out of me, that, it seems the same people people bitching about the lack of change on the frontier, are the same ones bitching about all the changes from 2nd gen, to 3rd taco.....
It may be dated, but, it is solid, and reliable. Also keeps costs down all around.... ANYWAY....

Bahahaha, fair weather pussies!! Do you or have you ever motorcycled? Think of sledding in the snow like motorcycling in the rain. Pretty similar. Visibility sucks, traction sucks, you get soaked, etc. The ideal is 2 days after the storm after the yahoos have gone out and beat the snow down, after the groomer has panned it, then it was given time to set up, nice and firm. Then you can absolutely fly, traction for days. Powder days are slow riding.

I've been out playing on the sled a bit today but nothing serious, days like this are when you break parts and hit stuff just under the snow. Thin cover and a bunch of fresh snow can be risky. I'll be doing hundreds of miles a week though now that I can actually ride locally. We haven't had more than 5 days of local riding in the past 3 years.

I guess that all makes sense. It was a little slippery with the sled today and my tracks weren't gripping on the ranger. Club groomer went by shortly after I posted, with the temps in the negatives I think there should be a nice trail there for guys next weekend.

I like the driving position of Cupcake's 2005 Rav..though no sunroof, and I do see the dead pedal being different from my Tacoma. Not really sure what year but she'll probably buy used again anyway. How tall is your wife?

The CR-V is a nice option, I've driven my mom's 2015 and my sister in law's 2016. My mom mainly went that route because she needed the AWD for getting to dialysis in the bad weather..she actually bought out her lease last summer, I told her even if she didn't want to keep it to buy it and resell herself because she put so few miles on it.

My headroom issue was much more prevalent on the passenger side, as opposed to the driver side.

The dead pedal issue was on the Pilot / Passport / Ridgeline, not the RAV.

I was extremely unimpressed with the RAV. I thought it felt junky inside.

Just finished the driveway so I can head into work for 11. The snow was light and fluffy.

The 3” of ice on top was a brick.

I have no doubt it's not a bad car, it was just never for me. It's safe and reliable, which is all you can really ask of a vehicle anyways. When my wife and I were looking we drove a CR-V, RAV4 and CX-5. My Mom had a Forester and before that a Rogue, so we had all the bases covered. We picked the CX-5 because it was the most fun to drive.

The junky comment refers to the newest RAV at the auto show. The whole dash flexed when you operated the controls. That's something you don't expect from a Toyota.

Hasn’t been much snow, so it makes sense to me to Be on the side of caution and not wail the shit out of your sled on stuff hidden under a thin base

Which one did you sit in? I sat in the cement grey Rav4. The interior seemed like Toyota's typical plastic interior.

Had to pull over somewhere to remove the ice that finally loosened from the roof. The only thing stopping it from sliding off was the XM antenna. I had to lift it off as one giant thick sheet of ice.

Interesting, and maybe being a higher trim level could affect it too. She didn't want anything without heated seats so we didn't look at anything below a limited basically
