Add me to the pop / clunk list.

Once the temperature dropped I started getting a pop / clunk. For the majority of time it only comes in if I hit with both wheels dead on. Feels like a clunk more noticeable on the driver's side, but if I get on an oscillating road I can feel a pop in the floorboard. The only bolts I've touched were the upper three where the front coilover assembly bolts in, the lower shock mount and the sway bar mounts. I verified torque on the LCA alignment bolt and the lower front shock bolt. The upper coilover assembly bolts are tight as are the sway bar mounts by the skid plate. I haven't verified the tightness of the end lines, but they were tightened well as part of the suspension install. Because you need the hex key in place I wasn't able to verify the torque setting. I've got no apparent interference between the coils and sway bar, and no apparent coil binding.

Of course with the weather warming up the past two days my pop / clunk disappeared but was replaced with a very, very noticeable rattle when the truck hit any bump at sub-30 MPH. It typically occurs right after the bump is hit. It's metal on metal and almost sounds like the spare tire chain is banging around, but it's coming from the passenger side, which is odd. It's only noticeable with the windows down and happens independent of throttle and brake position. I know these trucks are famous for noise with the MT when the driveline is unloaded, but even with my foot on the accelerator maintaining speed (though not actively accelerating) it rattles. It also rattles with the brakes applied, likely ruling out the pads shifting in the caliper.

I'm thinking maybe Friday I'll pull the skid plate and sway bar and see if that helps any, but otherwise I'm out of ideas. The only other thing I can think of is body mounts.

I just ordered full rebuild parts for the lower spherical bearings on the coilovers up front. I need to order some rear ones next. The UCA bushings are poly unless the ball joint is dying. I have to rebuild my spare LCA's still so that will eliminate any lca clunks when I get the truck in the air this spring.

I am suspect my LCA's alignment hardware might have gotten loose again though so I'll be under there when I get a chance. Luckily I primarily drive the beater now to keep miles down on the truck and to recoupe some... gas mileage.

When I had this noise on my ‘17 it ended up being the cab/body mount. It’s almost like the bushing squished down to nothing and it was metal on metal coming from the passenger side footwell slow speed over bumps.

Seems like this cold weather has jacked up a bunch of stuff for people. Both my brother and I have had power steering tightness, both low and fluid, and refilled. Still tight when it’s extremely cold, sometimes more so in one direction than the other

Well.. I mean... probably... I do drive the truck pretty hard.
I also just launched the truck again last night over a snowbank because the town of Waltham sucks at plowing roads properly and when I took a right turn into what is supposed to be the right lane of a two lane road there was a decently sized pile of snow in the middle of the lane... Didn't even see it coming since I was checking traffic and punched it out of the side street. I did tri-flo the hell out of the suspension during the day so no more creaking coming from the rear suspension.

Things I still need to check:
    - Bed Mounting interface for wear
    - Recheck tightness on LCA's
    - Recheck tightness on the rear suspension hardware although I did that a month ago and haven't wheeled since
    - Rebuild spare driveshaft and swap it out with new IEDS carrier bearing (still need to make the spacer - link here)

    Things I have checked:
    - Front Camburg UCA have been greased
    - LCA ball joint has been greased along with retightened
    - skid plates and sliders retightened
    - Front bumper retightened
    - Front coilover mounts have been retorqued
    - Tie rods checked, fwd wheel bearings checked (both have less than 15k)

Running out of ideas but it's tough revolving work around outdoor temps...
