So, as I have mentioned before, I think having an off-road park would be cool. Everywhere I look online though, the parks are like thousands of acres large. This would cost millions in MA to buy the land let alone even being making trails/camp sites etc...

How much land do you think you need for something like that? I have a lead on a potential 200 acres I could score pretty cheaply. Even if it wasn't a business, but a personal property I let people ride or whatever. Is that enough space for something like that? I thought it was but as I am looking at more and more parks it is sounding small. I've never been to a real one though so have no idea.

Honestly, I would reach out to the NEA4WD.

They have access to tracts of wheelable private land, etc. There is one ab9ut 20 minutes from me.

Anyway, talk to them about typical size, blah blah.

The places I have been, seem to be almost forest management.

Wife and I did concealed carry with petes gun shop in cheshire mass, not sure where you are located, they are a popular shop in our area.

@Chasespeed I reached out, they said they usually ride 20-80 acre parcels and they would be happy to help build out trails and whatnot. Gonna ride the property in the spring and really get a feel for it. But a hilltown property with around 800-1000 feet of elevation change could make for some fun depending on how things look. Thanks for the tip!

    Anytime man.
Even after I sold my Fronty, I still used my Jeep with the Nexterra crew. Great group, bunch of mixed rigs, Nissans, Jeeps, and a yota or 2.

There is a lot of info, and they fully endorse responsible wheeling. Usually a "land use fee" and waivers....

My only concern about that is the potential for lawsuits / litigation. We live in a very sue-happy society, so I'd be looking at what types of insurance you'd need to have. All you'd need is someone flipping their rig and blaming inappropriate signage or something stupid along those lines.

Otherside of town from where we are now, but could be a cool thing...once the house build gets wrapped up and the weather turns I can get more serious about the potential of the property and whatnot.

Yeah there would have to be a waiver to sign for anyone on the property, I would deff run things by the insurance companies before really opening up the land.

Yeah its a piece of property that is for sale if I want it, other wise isn't going anywhere from what I have gathered, so its more of a timing thing. Once I get there, I would probably try to get some guys together to at least plan some trails if not try to get some basic work done on em. From the GIS map i was looking at, there are some nice wide flat spots up top that would make a good camping area. It is directly across from Mt. Greylock and I'm imagining some very nice views. So :fingerscrossed: and I should have an update this spring/summer.

Everyone will be welcome, and a bike would be probably be helpful getting in some tighter areas! I'll probably have to rent some smaller machines even for some places, but those are always fun to play with.

    Thanks guys!

This. It's always made me wonder why high profile people put themselves in situations where it's even slightly possible someone could make an allegation regardless of fact or not

200 acres would work well for a NEA property. I've been to some of there properties, and it was $40? To wheel for the day I think.

Not sure, probably working saturday til noon then it all goes up in the air
