    Happy birthday @Blais03!

It's Nashville, so it's more likely that I'm drunk haha

Really though. A nice hot day with a cold beer is so much nicer than a cold day with a hot drink. For whatever reason, I feel like a cold drink cools you down better than a hot drink warms you up.

Although I will give one thing to New England. Down here when it's a hundred degrees out I'll still see people getting hot coffee. I'll never understand that. Iced coffee all the way, all year round, but especially in the summer.

I do believe the sun is getting to you...

I don't mind hot weather when I have nothing to do but lounge around with a cold beer in hand. The problem is, that's rarely the case and I have to actually work in this shit all day with pants, work boots, hard hat, safety glasses and gloves. I also don't mind the heat if it's dry but the humidity up here sucks! And regardless of either of my 2 comments above, anything over 80 is just fuggin hot.

I do agree that doing manual labor in 80+ degree weather sucks. Same with doing manual labor in under 40 degree weather.

There's the happy range for manual labor. Dry, 40-80 degrees, and not too sunny, but still bright.

Not sure if that's a different model or older design, but this is what is on their site now.

looking at 2" lift kits, was thinking of piecing my own together...6112's up front, and 5100 or 5162's out back), with OME 888 springs up front, and 2" add a leaf in rear until i can get the dakar leafpacks, and upgrade to 6112's, and lightspeed racing/SPC UCA's..

any thoughts? I've looked at other kits.... and just feel they are charging a HUGE premium on "setup, and packaging".... not any discount by any means..

anyone know where I would get the best pricing/shipping on these pieces? I would like to order it all piece by piece as i can afford them.

thanks. not in a rush or anything, not planning to have this installed until I upgrade tires.. and I have over 50% tread left on my yokohama's... looking at 255/85/16 cooper stt maxx. 33" pizza cutters

I would not put 888 coils in the 6112's. I have the 6112/5160's package and love it. They come with a 600lb coil but you can upgrade to an approved 650lb coil through bilstein if you add armor and weight. I have the medium dakars in the rear and JBA UCA's. What is your end goal. Offroad, mall crawler, just bigger tires?

I want a solid offroad capability but decent road manners. I currently have a RTT mounted ARB Simpson III(170lbs per listing (not sure if that 170 includes the awning package as well or not) I was able to lift it onto my hirise bed bars by myself to mount up (without the mattress in it) I also plan to carry (wheen offroading) about 300-500lbs of gear/water/extra fuel in the bed...

front will get a SSO hybrid bumper, and a 10k smittybuilt winch with syn line (minimal weight gain)... full steel skids (RCI?), and bolt on steel sliders.. this vehicle is planned as my cross country tourer, and I want to "overland" it...

Ok, with this being your end game, personally, I would go with the 6112's with 650 bilstein coils (make sure they are the bilstein ones and not the eibach ones) for the winch, sso bumper and skid plate trio. Go with either a LR UCA or a JBA UCA. The amount of weight in the rear might require you to move up to a full new leaf pack. The 5160's will compliment the 6112's but are not required. You can also do the 5100's in the rear. If you are going to put on the 650lb coils, make sure you have the weight on first (winch, bumper, skids) or you truck is going to high in the front. You can always get the regular 600lb coils, then change them out for the 650lb coils when you add the weight. That is what I did.

I have a sos streamline bumper, sos skid plate trio, and going to be adding a 10k winch and sos sliders. I have 600lb coils in there now but already have the 650lb bilstein coils ready to be installed once the winch and sliders go in. Having the DCSB, you most likely will have to shim for driveline vibes as well no matter what you put in the rear.

Scott, sounds like you have a solid plan. Everything I've heard about the 6111's has been positive. The only thing I would recommend is saving up for the leaf pack and doing that at the same time.

Buy once cry once, plus it's less work installation wise
