Wait man, answer the question before asking your own... I want to know what you would do with a gun in your pocket and high velocity gunfire somewhere in the area. What is the first thing you do?

    To many, but never done
It's hard to know what's going to happen in that scenario...
I'd hope to just get out and grab people on my way out.
I'm not looking to put anyone down unless it's a you or me situation.

    Sorry, lol.
I think it is one of those things where you don't know what you'll do until it happens- I have no tactical response training to an active shooter scenario so the assumption for myself is I would run->hide-> fight (that's what I know) I'm not even sure drawing my firearm would be the first thing that I do.

I don't think there's a court in the country that'd convict you for opting to find and eliminate a shooter if you were carrying legally (well, maybe California would)...
On the other hand, what are your odds of getting close enough for a shot without getting shot yourself? And collateral damage is always a concern; you go from hero to zero in no time flat if you hit a bystander while you were trying to take out the gunman.

That's why I'm saying that I might react differently in the heat of the moment, but everything I've read, seen, or been taught for that sort of situation dictates a retreat where possible. But if presented with somebody killing innocent people two aisles over...who knows. Maybe charge. Maybe run. Maybe sh*t myself.
    Maybe all 3. :notsure:

Ok, so none of you would un-holster your small caliber, short barrel firearm with likely only the one magazine in it on your person and immediately travel towards the direction of high velocity gunfire, using racks of Bounty paper towels and K-cups to protect you in an effort to drop the shooter? Oh, no shit? I just got in a near screaming match with them about this. Both swear on their life that they would actively hunt the shooter and make an effort to bring them down. BULLSHIT I SAY! I don't think either of these meatheads have ever even HEARD an AK or a 30.06 or anything of the sort. And I can just about promise that neither one has shot their firearm in the last 120 days. Whatever.

I'd like to think I would go towards the line of fire and take him out but pretty sure I'm helping other people get out and if the opportunity comes to take a shot then by all means. I've also never heard a full auto going off near me. So probably running with my tail between my legs

Sounds like they watch too many movies. I would also put money on any of those people who shoot their mouths off saying they'd actively hunt down the shooter would end up cowering in a corner in a puddle of their own piss if actually put in that situation. Rarely are the loud mouths actually the heros they think they are in their heads.

I held off for 6 months then back ended our honeymoon onto a Ford racing school in Salt Lake City. Got some nice hiking in and had a blast driving.

Somewhere in my head, I'm a hero and somehow save the day. In reality, I'm a half ass shot at best, would probably grab my wife and gtfo. I would like to believe I would help others out, but I wouldn't be charging the shooter. In my heart I know I'd be retreating unless saw an unbelievable opportunity to stop it, or got forced into a position where I had to act. Never know until your in the shit, and I've never been to war, so street fighting is all I've got experience with, and the danger level was never that high.

This is the best way to sum it up :thumbsup:

Just finished up, on to smoking something.:rasta:

Yeah, I can honestly say probably not. I mean, I'm a decent shot; I practice with my CCW regularly and I can draw and put the full mag into center mass at 20 feet. But that's standing, against a stationary paper target, without a gallon of adrenaline fizzing in my system. Hardly qualifications to charge into battle against some nutjob with an AR.

Exactly. The carry weapon is for personal protection. If the shooter and I become engaged for some reason then you bet your ass I am putting him under fire. But the first thing I am doing is looking for shelter/safety/cover, and the next thing I am doing is considering my options for escape. One thing for sure is I am not travelling in the direction of high velocity automatic gunfire by choice, and I'd bet a box of donuts they wouldn't either.

It's 37.5 and 29.5 on the pto. Bucket holds about 2/3 of a yard maybe a little less, handled it well. The hst is a little squeaky, but I guess some nicer fluid will take care of most of that is what I have been told. So on 50 hour service I will put some nicer stuff in. Been impressed with how smooth the loader works though. Getting the tires filled next Tuesday, rears have no traction with the FEL and nothing on the 3pt.

Edit: Same size as the 4runner actually.

Stopping on my way home but I wouldn't doubt that I'll have trouble finding a parking spot.

    Nice.
Never used an HST yet that didn't whine. John Deere, Kubota, New Holland, Yanmar...all noisy.

If I could recommend something, go with beet juice for your weight. Works just as well as calcium but won't eat your wheels.

They fill the tires with beet juice? Did not know that. Does it not freeze?

Yeah, the sugar keeps it from freezing until you hit something like -30. And it usually costs less than Calcium, and won't eat your wheels. I think it's marketed under the name Wheelguard or Rimguard or something similar. I have it in the rears on my little New Holland.

x2! My dad had to replace the wheels on his old Kubota because the calcium finally ate them up. Granted, it took 20 some-odd years for it to happen... but still avoidable with the sugar substitute.
