Wow, I am blow away by the epic civility, and rationality of this discussion. And it is usually I refrain from, but, I will engage.

So far, I applaud everyones honesty, and not trying to prove...anything.

Will do my best to answer, or comment, as appropriate.

My family close at hand, their safety is paramount. Any other women, children as well.
Solo? I will most likely seek out, and attempt to neutralize, or render aid as needed. And possibly do so, as soon as mine/imediates are secured.

    Yes

Outcome of success, and chosing battles will ultimately depend on the individual, and training.
In certain states, with a CC, you are expected to intervene(I believe).

    Right on the money

This is where I start to lose my patience. As it is usually some jackass, that would never pass an entrance physical, or boot, running their damn mouth, wearing black utilities, etc.. you know the type, "Id have joined, but, i would kill anyone getting in my face in bootcamp"....
No training. No experience. Shut the fk up, and dig some holes, and set some more traps... or whatever.

    ^^^^^This
Most people have no idea what will happen, when the time comes.
Most people have never seen anyone die, peacefully, let alone violently.
Training is key. We are trained to the point of reaction. Muscle memory. Dont think. Just do.

Reality is usually so much different than envisioned. One truly does not KNOW, until tested.

We moved to Caribou for our 4 year honeymoon, stopped at beans to get the wife a coat, she was from New York, going to school just out side Philly when we met.

We use this as an excuse to keep wandering for our “honeymoon”. Ended up in the Alexandria Bay Area in west New York a few years ago. Don’t remember what road we took, but ended up following the Canadian border for a while. Enjoy the adventure on the road and in the marriage. Congrats.

I've never owned a firearm..probably never will, thanks to the stupidity in MA and to a degree my own stupidity. But...

I've been trained in such situations to take cover first, then help others if possible. Engaging is the last resort..especially, as others said, if they could be mistaken for the shooter. Firearm or not, I don't think most of us have vests and other tactical gear as the police would.

    Well, today is shot.
Dog woke me up around 11 last night.....in and out of bed. Upstairs, down, etc.. running through the house...
I finally get up, and come around the corner in hall, to see the dog running out of the bathroom, and something FLYING towards me.... before I could even register, she snatched it out of the air....
Tell dummy to drop it, and the fun began.....spent the next 45-60 minutes trying to catch a flying mosquito disposal, and get it out of the house....
And could not fall back asleep. Until right before my alarm went off.....

Now, I need to figure out how it got IN.....

    Decent sized one too.

So, I am going to drink my coffee, in peace.
Hopefully, the image of me running around my house last night, trying to catch a bat, provides some amusement, and light heartedness to y'alls morning.

    Ya, Lobster Lake.

They all are boat access only, thanks.

We started looking at Duck cove last night, think we will try that with spencer being a back up.

If you didn’t see it, posted a link for a nice pdf map in the wheeling trip thread

Ah yes, I've seen that map. I'll be interested in hearing from you how busy/full those sites are. When are you going and for how long?

Nope. Just added to the chaos. Once I had it cornered, she settled right down.
Get the bat out, and she is looking up at me, all proud of herself.....

never ending battle for me! they enter in through the vent shingles on my peaks. They are like mice and basically fit anywhere. I kept thinking I had a mouse problem, but no matter what trap never caught any......accidentally discovered them one day while cleaning up the evidence in the attic. Caught them in a net, drove into the woods a couple miles away, and released hoping they wont come back......but they still do

Took a drive down to P-Town this morning with the wife. Hadn't been to that area before. Didn't get out of the truck, just drove around. It's a pretty cool area. Coming back in Sept and hoping more of the drive on beaches are open then to make it worthwhile to do. Right now only a tiny part is open
