Remember the rear shocks fit 1st gens. The only difference in the shaft is thinner

Umm... you sure about that?? 2nd Gen rear shocks are eye and stem, pretty sure 1st gen shocks are eyes on both sides. Plus 1st gens are side specific because one side is longer are they not?

I just just checked DSM, 1st gen shocks are eye-eye. The shocks won't fit without some sort of adapter, if such an adapter even exists. I know they make eye to stem adapters, haven't seen the other way around.

Looks good! To bad im not closer, i would help you frame a bad ass work bench. I drew up plans for my work bench and still havnt got around to building it. I am going to recess areas of the top so the tables of my saws and tools flush out with the top of the work bench. I also want it to have pop up rollers so i can mill long boards by myself.

 

Silly 1st Gens, thinking they can handle our suspension parts

To be honest though, I'd rather have a rear suspension like the 1st Gens. The way the shocks are set up, you get a lot of suspension travel out of the shocks. The 2nd Gen setup is better protected but isn't really ideal in my opinion.

 

Shock tube thickness is also larger

 

This reminds me that I need to clean my garage ASAP . I can't even see my quad anymore it buried under so much shit .

 

I'd imagine so, there is a shorter ratio of wheel travel to shock travel. I'd guess the 1st Gen shocks are a lot stiffer to account for the extra leverage the wheels have on the shocks.

 

are you an engineer? the shocks i have came with the truck are so god dang stiff

My mom just brought home a 2013 convertible mustang, its pretty sweet. My garage has such bad lighting im not sure it would even be worth posting a picture. But check this out, i thought it was pretty cool.
