250 and 350 have the same steering rack, just lose a little bit with the dual rear wheel. But, would you believe that the 450 has a better turning radius of the bunch? It’s because of the wide track front axle, it cracks over harder than the axle on the other 2. They used to make a wide track 350 but they stopped for some reason. I wish I had a better turning radius, I miss being able to simply spin my truck around on a 2 lane road.

My poor truck is going to need an oil change and I just did one a little over a month ago haha. We will see. Do I have to RSVP to join? I'll have to talk it over with the Mrs.
I mean just turn traction control off.... After you check the mirrors for traffic haha.

    I want a 450....

The new Super Duty has the aluminum body so it’s very light in the rear end, making it very easy to steer with the gas pedal. It will even do it with the traction control still on. The traction control on the 250 is much less invasive than the 150, it’ll let the tires turn quite a bit before stepping in.

Glad to hear. My biggest fear is the continuing trend of dumbing down work trucks which actually can make them really dangerous in some work situations.

Ha ok. Gotcha. I'd probably get lunch on the way down so food wouldn't be an issue with me. Just trying to be polite considering there's a lot of work into this it seems and would hate to commit to something I wasn't sure I'd be able to attend..

Maybe I'll take the bike down.

I took my truck out to a deserted road tonight to test out the lights. My phone camera took some super pixelated photos I won't even embarrass myself by posted, but oh man is it bright. In photos the LED bar drowns out the HID throw, but the distance I have with just those is impressive. The LED bar is astonishing to drive with, and it's a shame I cannot ever really use it outside of super deserted roads in the country, but I don't ever want to be that guy with the LED bar.

I need to reinforce the roof light crossbar as there's way too much shake when I hit a bump, but the the distance I have for throw is fantastic.

Yes HID is great for distance, LED is good for close stuff, not nearly as much light throw though

Some real nice shots! Glad you enjoyed it. Making me wish I went up a little further during my NH trip!

Care to expand at all on this? My confusion comes from I guess the idea that "work" trucks have always been basic without many frills, keeping them cheap and effective without a lot of money wasting stuff like a cd player or 19 inch touch screen. I don't really have much of an idea about this, just the first time I've heard someone with your opinion and curious about it.

Depends on the LED. The hyperspots I have are very impressive. They throw a nice, crisp beam pattern out quite a ways. In my opinion, combo bars are useless, too much scatter close to the truck to make the long range useful. Hopefully next weekend, I'll finally get the hyperspots mounted on this truck, they've been collecting dust since I traded in the F150...

I'm curious as to what driving into laser lights looks like. Is it blinding? Are they somehow set up to not blind me? Was always told never look at a laser!:rofl:

p.s. Laser should be spelled Lazer, just makes more sense in my head.

I know you didn't ask me but I do have an opinion. You can't even get a work truck with a stick shift anymore for starters. As of last year, the only full size truck you could get with a stick shift was the Ram 2500 with the Cummins and I think they finally got rid of that option for this year. They also come with with more and more bells and whistles, even stripped down. They all have the traction AIDS, back up camera and even a decent stereo. It's hard to find a basic, basic truck unless you order through fleet sales.

Exsesive gears in a transmission gear hunting or causing a truck to lurch wheen the truck is freighted while climbing the side of an actual mountain with loose stone and rock, and sharp drop offs.

I've just known HID to be better for distance than LED, now don't get me wrong my rigid dually in spot pattern throw pretty far but I think the HIDs throw a more useful light further

If we're ever in the same place after dark, you'll have to see the hyperspot pattern that Rigid makes. I was not impressed with my Dually spots but really like the hyperspots. They're a pencil beam and damn they go for a long ways!
