Yeah we have 55k on the 4runner, but it's hands down a more comfortable ride, even when towing. Plus, just added some fox 2.5's in front and 2.0 w/resi and adjusters in the rear w/ some bilstien springs.

Hey, it's not impossible, but it is improbable

I have done VERY limited research, but the 383's have stood out to me as well in the few comparison/option blogs I've read. Seem to be a good mix of decent power and reasonable pricing.

Solution: buy an almost 20 year old landcruiser. They feel like a much newer vehicle. Pretty sure that's the solution.....

Can anybody tell me if changing a headlight assembly is difficult on my 08? Got one coming from RockAuto this week

It's not bad, but if I recall, there's a bolt holding the assembly in place that's underneath and you have to get at it through the fender well. That one can be frustrating the first time removing your headlights.

Check out the beginning of this post, there are photos and instructions to remove your headlights.

    Morning all...

Absolutely. But the '84 is not the vehicle to do it in...
At 55 it's turning around 2500RPMs on the old Slant, which is a noisy motor anyway. And it's got zero sound insulation in the cab.

It's no wonder to me that older folks are deaf as posts, with how they used to build vehicles.

Any recommendation on tires for the Souper Dooty? It came stock with 235/85/16.

I want to hop up to 285/75/16 (a whopping 32.8" tire  ). I was looking at the Falken WildPeak A/T3W.

Cheap but decent in snow is best.

I'd buy some used take-offs, wheels and tires. I'm in the market for them now. I hate the Continentals that come on the stock models without the FX4 package. Looking at either the FX4 package Goodyears or the Tremor package Michelin AT2s. I love the Michelins and those black wheels but the Goodyears have good reviews and the wheel/tire combo is less expensive.

Those black SD wheels would look great on my truck.

I'll have to see what I can find on marketplace or something.

Is yours an 8 lug? I know some of the earlier ones were fewer lugs. If so, is it the same pattern as the current ones? You could put some sweet new wheels on that old girl.

I love my AT2s and will probably buy them until they stop making them but they are not exactly cheap.

To the best of my knowledge, it has 8 lugs. Gotta double check.

Bringing it in to work Friday to have it looked at. I think I have a bad wheel bearing. The driver's front wheel is cambered in quite a bit lol

Took the 3500 sierra out this afternoon while I was over there doing some brush hogging. That thing is a beast, its got tool chests before the dump bed and it revs like a bastard. The frame is solid, everything else needs to be replaced and is rusted hard. It would NOT be a good plow truck the way it is running now and I honestly think might be more of a project than I really want to take on ($$$$$). Might stick to the GMC 7000 for moving days and other random stuff, and let someone else pick up the Sierra as a firewood truck or whatnot.

That means I will most likely be keeping the Taco, which I am happy about.

Any one interested in doing cutch job on a Subaru Outback? Or know a place worth taking it to. Asked a few places local including the dealership, and feel like no one wants to do it. I have a few more places to check with still.
