Here in Southern/Central NH we are getting some light rain right now, but it's supposed to get a little crispy later.

I have the day off today so I finally picked up my weekly cold call from the toyota dealer asking why I don't pay $90 for an oil change anymore. So I scheduled a free follow up frame inspection because the crap they put on before all flaked off like if you painted wet concrete with housepaint. I was reading their list of eligible bulletins and saw one just called POL13-02...turns out if you have unintended acceleration there's a whole lot of compensation. http://media.fixed-ops.com/Toy_Campaigns/elt-dlrltr.pdf

Surprise! Real shocker here that a 2.7L needs a manifold doughnut gasket repair. They of course want to weld it because they know this is a constant issue right :)
Hopefully I can find a cheaper than $600 solution the next time I fail inspection. For now as long as it's warmed up.

The frame is fine they said although they are not applying any new protectants and they realize the other one was kind of ridiculous and didn't do much. I'm covered until February 2022. Maybe I should look into some fluid film this year

Paint really goes along way, I just hate painting. Maybe go drive around and look for some M/T Tacos and enjoy a day of your life finally! :boink:

Did our bigger bridge today, need to add another pylon under one section just to stiffen up things in the middle, and I was 1 or 2 2x8's short, so am going to pick all that up now and will try to get it wrapped up before any precipitation. Also ordered some surepack to build up some ramps with that and rocks so they are all easy to drive/walk up.

Just FYI, this is going to be a walking bridge only, maybe 4 wheelers, but it was hard to find trees long enough and thick enough to span the 30+ foot gap. I did the best I could with trees close by that were realistically moveable.

I thought about not protecting my frame and hoping it rots out, but my luck it will fail just after they will cover it.

my understanding was you have to have it checked to be eligible...once they check it then you are extended to 12 years from the first wheels on the road of the truck, even after re-sales.

Ya, it has to be checked. I think mine was a month or so ago. It was suggested by my advisor to stop spraying FF on it. He said it looked real good. So I should be covered till November 2028
