It's funny, on their site the price shown is the price of the vehicle "after gas cost savings" or some shit. So the 35k model you pay like 38k for BUT you are saving 3k in gas. I don't understand how they're able to market those lower prices

Also they take "preorder" which is just funding the model y or whatever, which when they start selling that one will go towards funding the robo cop pickup truck, and so on

I'm so tired of the electric car bull$hit! As they are presently manufactured and sold they are not better for the environment and presidential candidates saying they are are either lying or ignorant. The precious metals used to make the batteries come from slave labor just like blood diamonds. The electricity to charge them comes from fossil fuels. The cars cost more than the money you save. This is from research I did for a friendly debate I had with 2 different friends who drive Teslsa.
My Tacoma cost $30,000 less than the equivalent electric (there really are none) so I would have the ability to spend an extra $3,000 a year for 10 years and still be even on cost. I have had my truck since February 2013 and spent a total of $9928 on gas (Fuelly app). We pay $0.2532 per kw/h. A Tesla is avg 35 kw/h per 100 miles so 400 miles costs $35.44. I pay $48.80 for 400 miles. That's a savings of $13.36 per week. That means at a $30,000 price difference I break even in roughly 2,245 weeks or 43 years. Even with liberal estimating I would have to drive a Tesla for 30 years on the original 100% functional battery to be even. Plus the the majority of the power provided for my vehicle was sourced in the United States it does not rely on rare earth metals stripped from war torn countries exploiting slave labor. https://electrek.co/2016/11/01/breakdown-raw-materials-tesla-batteries-possible-bottleneck/

It's fine to drive a Tesla. But you're doing so because it's an amazing luxury car and status symbol. Not because you are an eco warrior or saving money.

Read an article that Tesla has like 930 million + in customer deposit money. It really is absurd and a lot of the fans are cult like. Like @TreeFortRichard said, its the status symbol that people have been waiting for since the Prius came out. An good looking electric that Carl down the road can't afford.

I like what Musk is doing with space exploration because I want to see us in space and think they are working well to level the playing field and push the whole industry. They have also pushed the electric car a little bit, but I think this was coming anyways, and I think Tesla car business will be out within 5 years or so. Once everyone has an electric car lineup, there will be no reason to go shop at the place without service stations or dealer support.

18's are a bit big on that truck, but I think with a set of more aggressive tires they'd work real well. I actually think I like those wheels the most out of the stock Tacoma options for the 3G, but street tread tires do them no favors.

All I know personally, Is that I will want to be the only person responsible for my fuck up As far as collisions go.. As cool as it does sound ,I don’t hold any faith in any of that. One computer glitch or manufacturer error it could be fatal. Just saying

I believe the cars talk to each other. So they know where you are and try to drive to you...but I wonder if you could build a labyrinth parking lot that is simple for a human to exit but overly complex for the auto piloting...50 cars wandering around lost in a giant lot.

Just because I am bothered by these things...when the Patriots started their drive with 6 minutes left I kept track of every time they snapped the ball with MORE than 10 seconds left on the play clock...The added time was 42 seconds. If they would run the clock off a little more there would have been zero issues at the end of the game but even when they should be killing the clock
