Probably not. It had oil pan issues from day one, I think he drove it basically dry for like a month once too.

Not bad. I'll be happier when the bike and truck are all done. Gotta get both ready for a drive to FL and naturally, like any other small project on my bike, it doesn't go easily

Never. This time I'm replacing my master cylinders to Brembo RCS, and naturally, there's fitment issues and issues with the brake and clutch line length

Honestly, I have to agree with Jason, the Aztek looks better than it's corporate cousin, the Buick Rendezvous :puke:. My family had a Rendezvous, it was awful!

They usually require the first one to be a 5th wheel though so, again, high pin weight so generally not a great fit for a half ton.
Agreed, that’s why I jumped to something bigger. I was technically overloaded with my half ton, the camper, the family and all the gear in the bed. I would have liked a half ton with the heavy payload package, but they’re not easy to come by.

Why not just leave your tailgate locked?

Mine's only unlocked if I've got in in my garage overnight. I've been thinking eventually to do a power lock kit and connect it into the keyless.

Interesting you say that--my girlfriend's uncle was showing me the '17 Sierra he picked up last weekend. It's got less than 20k on it and the frame rust is already significant. My '18 F-150 is a year newer, but has 45k on it and the only place I was starting to see rust was the rear shocks (which I replaced with Bilstein 5100s because the back end was starting to feel bouncy). He's going to have a shop clean it up and put some sort of coating over it. His mechanic told him F-150 parts are expensive and they're difficult to work on, so that scared him off of one.

Overall, I'm super impressed with my truck. There are some quality issues that I don't think I'd see in a Tundra like a few rattles I've had to track down and the dash developing a warp (Ford replaced it), but overall I think it's a solid vehicle. Ford knocked it out of the park with the drivetrain--the 2.7 and 10 speed are great--other than a once-a-month slow shift when it goes from 1st to 3rd, I've had no complaints. In the summer I average around 22 MPG. My 4.0 Tacoma got about 19 on the same roads.

Next one might be a Lariat if I can find a leftover 2020 502a Sport Appearance SuperCab for a good price--tough ask since almost every Lariat I see is a SuperCrew. I would like the B&O sound system, wiper deicers, nicer cluster, memory seats, and some other things that come on those.

I firmly believe ford makes the best gas full size packages. The tundra is far too outdated of a power plant

When I was looking at trucks before I bought the Ram I looked at a 4 year old Sierra with the 6.6 Duramax. It was within my price range, barely, with something like 60k miles on it. The dealership was asking $38k and the frame was toast. The entire frame, front to rear, was covered in scale and the crossmembers were already flaking. On a 4 year old truck, that probably cost $60k when it was new. :der:

I started out looking at Tundras and realized the MPG difference adds up to over $100/month more in fuel costs for me. It also lacked options that the competitors all had.

GM and RAM trucks are less expensive than Fords, I'll give them that. A Sierra similar to a 502a extended cab Lariat is a few thousand less, and a Ram Laramie is even less than that.

For me it was adaptive cruise. I've seen on the F150 forums that some owners are dropping it in on trucks without it, but that seems a bit sketchy to me. But yeah the 2.7 is probably what I'd be getting. Don't tempt me with that MPG.

Weird that mechanic said Ford was expensive but GM wasn't. Maybe another anti-turbo :p

Right now, aye. I agree. If I didn't get my Tacoma, it was almost definitely an F150 either the 2.7 or 5.0.

Waiting for the tundra next gen info to drop. The only thing that will pull me out of the Tacoma is if the tundra is cost-effective to go hybrid and is a great vehicle (and maybe the 4th gen Tacoma can do the same). I'm averaging about 16.5-17mpg in the tacoma, mostly driving city style to and from work, but that's also only since December, all cold weather. I would love a hybrid, but if it's an extra 20k to go hybrid, then that outweighs the cost of the fuel to keep it without hybrid, and it's a simpler vehicle. Lots of stuff to consider with it. :) For that much, I could also just buy a second car! :D

If it's a plug in hybrid I'm basically sold. My commute is about 5 miles. I could run basically full electric 90% of the time.
