Does anyone have a driving camera that they'd recommend? Preferably one that can handle vibration as well?

GoPro hero 5 session in the factory mount is what I use. Small form factor and I’ve caught plenty of ‘events’ on it.

Nice ! 7-10 is a tank. My biggest from there was around 4.

It’s well worth it. I love being able to stand and fish. If you ever want to try mine before you buy. You are more then welcome too.

Yup. Back left from the launch. Right off the bug rock ledge if you know where that is.

Whats up for the weekend everyone? I am doing my first overnighter of the year on the lake tonight! Hopefully land some cusk for a chowder.

I'm really hot on the Feel Free, but I do have a big Old Town Sportsman squareback canoe that I have absolutely beaten the ever loving crap out of and it takes it in stride. I will consider them all but I don't think I will go with a Hobie, they are just too expensive.

I should start shopping now but I am sure I will be buying at the worst time of the year!

Catching up on all the posts, it's been a busy week.

Sorry to hear about that Rob. I'm hoping by now he's pushed past it and is on the upswing! We had the new little one at the doctor on Monday as a precaution since she's only 4 months old. She's been sniffly for two weeks or so and wanted to make sure it wasn't going to turn into anything. Our oldest hadn't gotten the flu shot since she's got a mild egg allergy and the flu show is based on an egg protein, but the AAP changed their recommendations and said she should get it, so she got Part 1.

East Bridgewater here! Where you at?

    Happy belated @JeffB

    I have the Aukey DR-01
    https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Degrees-G-Sensor-Detection-Dual-Port/dp/B01M592J9C

There's a hardwire kit that plugs into your OBDII port which means it turns on the second you turn the truck on and shuts off when you shut off the truck. It also has a motion sensor which turns the camera on. I've got an OBDII splitter so I can run my ScanGauge and have run both for a year now without issue.
[IMG]IMG_4531 by Mike M, on Flickr

The little unit on the windshield is the motion sensor. The camera is mounted to the GoPro mount using a cutdown GoPro mount superglued to the camera. It's quite sturdy. There's probably better cameras out there now, but I'm happy.

This is my winter project. As many of you know (and are probably sick of hearing about), I hated the Corbeau seats I put in my Vette. Try as I might, I couldn't find a decent set (or lately, ANY sets) of seats in the color of my interior because like an idiot, I sold my stock seats. I had purchased a set of stock seats two years ago but later found out they were from a flood car so they had their issues. A few dead motors, some mold in the fabric, etc, etc. So those where a non-starter, but I assumed I might be able to salvage some / part of the covers if I found a set. I got a message from a guy who had the right seats and assured me they were mint. I got to his house and his definition of mint and mine were VASTLY different. So I started putting up my seats plus cash for any seats figuring I'd swap the covers. I got a message from a guy in NJ who have the black seats you see. Originally he said his seats plus $300, which would likely be enough for new driver's side foam and I could reuse my grey covers.

He took out his seats and found out the base was cracked. I backed out of the deal and said I'd sell him my seats straight up when I got a pair. He ended up throwing me an offer of $700 plus my seats. Well, my junk seats ended up having a decent base that I could swap to replace the broken part. I just have to swap over one motor onto the base from his seat, so I figured awesome, I can buy new leather and foam and completely redo the seats. He got here and his car was a non-memory 97, so his harness would connect to my car, but I'd lose the telescoping wheel. I could reuse my junk seat harness, but the lumbar differs slightly as far as connectors go. I took apart his lumbar setup and verified the pumps are the same but the connectors are different at the motor. So I thought about swapping everything over when I had the epiphany that my junk passenger seat has lumbar too. Turns out that setup survived and bolts in.

So I think I've got the electronics sorted minus a bum motor on my base, but I have four additional motors to choose from that will hopefully work. Then I just need new covers and foam. I wish someone did a fabric seat cover for these cars instead of leather, but alas no luck. The only good thing coming from all of this is I'm actually interested in the car again, which will be exciting. I figure I can sell the passenger side seat cover for something (the driver's is rekt) and then maybe sell the upper half of my junk covers as-is and funnel some of that back into the car and enjoy it this summer.

I have mine still run down to the power in the center cluster, I have the hardwire kit and add-a-fuse. Problem being is those push the fuse above the fuse box cover so you can't put it back on without cutting it out. Meso (Meso?) had a raised cover that worked but they're out of stock now :(

Might try to run it this weekend. It's not terrible as it is but definitely want to have it cleaned up. There are a few circuits that I can tap into that do the same, on w/ ACC power instead of always on. On my mazda I used the heater circuit.

I don’t know how I’d ultimate do it with a hardwire, but the beauty of the OBDII wire is it’s plug and play.

Does yours pull speed and telemetry and whatnot? Mine is just video. I don't have the GPS unit so no speed. I do have a rear camera to rig up though.

Awesome, I appreciate that offer! May take you up on it. They are great looking kayaks and the place in Contoocook on the river sells them for pretty good price.

No, it doesn't. The OBDII power is just two pins to power the device, it doesn't pull any data from the port.
